R.I.P Stacy Fleeman AKA dharmakaya

Post by hydro »

I am in complete shock this morning as I have learned that one of our own members here and a good friend of mine on myspace passed away last night

The Scene has just confirmed through multiple sources that Dharmakaya singer, Spat! Records proprietor and End doorman Stacy Fleeman is on life support. Fleeman was admitted to Vanderbilt Hospital Sunday and put into a medically induced coma after being found unresponsive. According to our sources, he has emerged from the coma with little to no brain activity. He is 33-years-old. The End's Jesse Baker said, "I've never known a person who cared more about his friends in the local music scene." The Pink Spiders' Matt Friction said, "Stacy is a really good guy.... I'm just hoping for the best at this point."

On behalf of the Cream I'd like to echo that same sentiment. I don't recall ever having gone to show at The End at which Stacy wasn't working the door. Always with a friendly face, he is an obvious and dedicated supporter of local music who we'd like to see around for a long time. Well-wishers can send their thoughts and prayers to the Spat! Records site.

Update: Stacy passed away last night. We are of course deeply saddened by this news.

Details of a benefit show at The End in mid-October are still forthcoming. Nashville Cream collected over $300 at our birthday party, which we will be donating to Stacy's family. We will update you with more information as we get it.

Abbey Lillie says

I stopped by to see Stacy one more time yesterday. I printed off every Facebook and Cream message. Read some out loud and left them with Stacy's dad. AJ played an entire Jane's Addiction Live CD. One of the last CDs AJ listened to with him when he was well. I am glad I saw him one more time b/c I didn't know what would happen on Monday. They were suppose to have a meeting with the Family. Looks like Stacy made it easier for his family to decide. He hung on all week. Like he was making sure everyone got a chance to see him. We love Stacy very much and we are very sad he has left us so soon. May he find peace now.
a comment from before Stacy passed on.AJ is dharmakaya's guitar player

I did not know Stacy, but all of us here have similar interests (art/music) all that is PF & Jane's.
We all have that connection that brought us together, nothing can take that away.
So very sad, I cannot begin to understand and dread the day I will have to try. :(
He has to be in a better place.

Amber Alert Issued for Tennessee Girl (Tamar Wyatt - 5)

Friday, 05/05/06 Millersville girl, 5, found safe in Nashville after Amber Alert By KATE HOWARD Staff Writer Millersville police said late Thursday night that a 5-year-old girl named in a statewide Amber Alert earlier in the day was located about 11 p.m. on Elliston Place in Nashville. Officials said Tamar Wyatt was all right and was taken to Millersville where her identity was confirmed early today. Metro Police Capt. Paul Trickey said the girl was found with Todd Michael Gilbert, 37, who was named in the Amber Alert as having taken the girl on an outing Thursday morning. Stacy Fleeman, who said he works security at The End, a club at 2219 Elliston Place, said he spotted a man and girl matching the description in the alert. Fleeman said the man was panhandling and "kind of looked out of place," so he called police who arrived and took the man and girl away. "The man was arrested and the child is fine. A great ending," Trickey said. The alert had been issued after Tamar, who left Thursday morning with Gilbert, hadn't returned by evening. Gilbert was a co-worker of the girl's mother and had planned to live with them in a mobile home in Millersville, Kerr said. No one in the family had heard from Gilbert since he left with the girl. "This man was supposed to take her to McDonald's, maybe play on the playground and come back," Millersville police Officer Jeff Kerr said. "That was at 11 in the morning." Gilbert has an extensive criminal background, Kerr said. None of the charges involved kidnapping or harming children, Kerr added. An Amber Alert is still active for another missing Midstate child. Analyce Guerra disappeared from her Smyrna home April 24. Analyce is 3 feet tall and weighs 35 pounds. She was last seen wearing a denim overall dress with sunflowers and beads. Her brown shoulder-length hair was in a ponytail.
