I saw this posted in the thread for the 7/25 show and wanted to pop it in here seeing as you can hear a lot more of Irresistible Force than you could in the previous clip where they used it.

It's still really hard to tell exactly what's going on based on a chopped up / talked over bit of the song but for what it's worth I'm liking what I hear.

Dave said on Dark Matter tonight that they are done tracking the album!

It won't be long now for some new Jane's and these guys just might make the September 26th street date.

Jane's Addiction Announce Single & Shows

Submitted by Pip Ellwood on Tue, 07/26/2011 - 12:37

Jane’s Addiction, the iconic alternative rock titans, are set to release their first single in eight years.

Entitled Irresistible Force it’s a dark, swirling, moody and epic composition that channels the mystical, shamanic qualities of the band; an interlaced fusion of Stephen Perkins insistent drums, Dave Navarro’s melodic guitar lines and Perry Farrell’s uniquely brilliant vocals.

Irresistible Force will be released on August 3rd and follows on from the track ‘End To The Lies’ which was made available as a free download earlier this year. Both tracks feature on the forthcoming and highly-anticipated new studio album ‘The Great Escape Artist’ which will be released in the autumn, and features both Dave Sitek (of TV On The Radio) and Chris Chaney on bass.

Jane’s Addiction last week announced an exclusive show at Koko in London on August 30th, to follow their headline appearance on the Radio 1/NME stage at Reading & Leeds Festivals. The show sold out within minutes of going on sale and will feature some fabulous surprises!

In further live news, Jane’s Addiction will be playing a world-exclusive show at Terminal 5 in New York City on Monday 25th July in association with YouTube and LG. Not only will the concert be streamed live on YouTube but this will also be the first 3D user-generated concert event. All attendees will be able to film the show on brand new LG Thrill 4G Devices, and then these films will be combined into one special 60-minute documentary film which will be premiered on the LG Thrill 3D YouTube channel on August 4th.

For more information, check out this video of the band, which also features the first sneak preview of the new single Irresistible Force - http://www.youtube.com/comealive. Click on the 3D option to change how you view it – dependent on whether you have a pair of 3D-glasses to hand.

The concert will also feature a revolutionary 360-degree stage set, that not only showcases the band’s performance in a totally unique way but also gives new scope to the performance artists that share the stage with Jane’s Addiction.

It looks like come August 3rd we'll be able to hear Irresistible Force in its entirety.

That's when the mp3 will be available at the Amazon store.

I hope they release a disc version of it because I really hate lossy sourced music but if this is the only way to get a copy until the album comes out in September then so be it.

Jane’s Addiction Prepare Their New Single
By Andrew Tijs
10 hours ago (Thu, 28 Jul 2011 15:02:00 +1000)

Reunited alt-rock heroes Jane’s Addiction wind up for their first single in seven years ‘Irresistible Force’.

There’s been a lot of excitement brewing about the new album from Perry Farrell, Dave Navarro and Steve Perkins and now they’ve announced that their new single ‘Irresistible Force’ will hit radio on August 4 and be available to buy on August 5.

Their fourth album, The Great Escape Artist, was put together by the three core members, plus bassist from 2004’s Strays Chris Chaney, as well as TV On The Radio’s Dave Sitek also playing bass and writing.

It’s been produced by Rich Costey, who has worked with Muse, Franz Ferdinand, Interpol, apt since Farrell told Rolling Stone that it the latest incarnation of the band is “a strange mixture of that post-punk Goth darkness that Jane's had, with what's going on today with groups like Muse and Radiohead.”

The Great Escape Artist will be released on September 23, but the band will play Splendour In The Grass this weekend so expect the hype to build even more.
