Peter DiStefano he is known for the guitar. But he has good voice. Like Dennis Wilson/Carl Wilson he sounds. Gratitude is good album to listen again.
Gratitude kicks in with DiStefano's instantly recognizable lush open chords and proficient wah-wah playing. It was DiStefano's playing, much like Dave Navarro's before him, that took Perry Farrell's vocals to the stratosphere and back. Simple pop structures run amuck throughout the album's 37 minutes -- and the temptation to flaunt his guitar skills is met with great reserve and discipline, much to DiStefano's credit.

One day if we're lucky, P4P might be so kind as to release the individual studio tracks separated out like Janes addiction did with the great escape artist or at least release the acapella versions. I'd really like to remix P4P "tonite". Of all the songs of P4P, "tonite" has Perry's best vocal, in my opinion. Its magical, and really haven't heard him sing anything like it since.
The fact is he cannot sing like a 30 year old. If his life depended on it he simply could not. Take a listen to him try to sing 'Sympathy for the devil" Sons of Anarchy: Songs of Anarchy, Vol. 2. The voice you hear on that song is one of a weak monotone grandpa who took some time off from playing bingo at the shady acres rest home to make some music. The grandpa voice is him.... a voice that has no range, no androgyny at all like the PF of 80's and 90's. Trust me you do not want to hear anything from him----when he doesn't like the music and his heart isn't in it and his voice is totally useless and lame---you will get horrible results-that is the end product of the equation. If it was 1999- 2001 I'd say yeah maybe, give it a try and lets see but its 2016 guys, forget it. And as for Pete we haven't heard anything substantive from him in decades either. The guy didn't have any sense to go out and start a band and make it sound cool. He just followed in his leaders footsteps and made lame DJ karaoke music that went nowhere.

Perry Farrell Plays Unannounced Live Set

by MTV News Staff
6/24/1998

The 200 fans who lined up to attend what was advertised as “Free Form Jazz Feat. Mike Watt” at the 14 Below club in Santa Monica, Calif., on Saturday night were treated to an unannounced partial onstage reunion of Perry Farrell (Jane’s Addiction, Gobalee) and his band Porno for Pyros. The show was billed as a jazz jam with former fIREHOSE leader Watt, Porno guitarist Peter DiStefano and Porno/Jane’s drummer Stephen Perkins, but was widely rumored to feature an appearance by Farrell. It quickly turned into an all-out rock show when Farrell joined the trio for versions of the Porno songs “Pets,” “Thick of It All,” “Tahitian Moon,” “Meija,” “Bad Shit,” “Porpoise Head” and a set-ending cover of Iggy Pop’s “I Got a Right.” “These guys are all friends,” Porno co-manager Adam Schneider said of the show. “And Peter just asked Perry if he wanted to jam.” Spotted in the audience were recently re-upped Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist John Frusciante and bassist Flea, the latter of whom played with the reunited Jane’s on last fall’s “relapse” tour.

Distefano and Perk they bust the groove better together. Better than Navarro and Perk do. Navarro groove better with Chad smith and flea. Navarro has said he don't like it but he play guitar more dynamic with flea..Flea can help Farrell produce cooler music if Farrell say yes to the right groove. If distefano can join Jane addition this can help satisfy the one who miss porno for pro. Lenoble play better than chaney this is true he has the presence.
