CBGB Festival in NY (Jane's for free!)

Post by venacom »

Jane's free show, and the site lists Eric as the bassist.

Obviously a mistake... but fuck it, free show in NYC!

Here is the Rolling Stone article on it (via: http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/ ... k-20140904 )
Jane's Addiction, Devo Set to Headline CBGB Festival in New York
'Hardcore Devo Live' will have its world premiere at the film festival along with 30th anniversary screening of 'This Is Spinal Tap'
By Daniel Kreps | September 4, 2014

The 3rd Annual CBGB Music & Film Festival will return to New York on October 8th through 12th with a wide array of bands that includes Devo, Surfer Blood and Jane's Addiction, the latter of whom will celebrate the 25th anniversary of their breakthrough debut LP Nothing's Shocking by performing the album in its entirety. Macy Gray, Robert DeLong, We Are Scientists and dozens more artists are also on the bill, which will take place in a variety of venues throughout New York City and Brooklyn. For all the details and ticketing information, check out the CBGB festival site.

In addition to the music, the CBGB Festival will also feature a ton of music-inspired cinematic offerings. Hardcore Devo Livewill have its world premiere at the fest, while The Winding Stream, a documentary focusing on the two music family dynasties The Carters and the Cashes, will also screen.

Also on the slate is Like Sunday Like Rain, which stars Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong as a struggling musician who becomes the guardian of a musical prodigy. Since 2014 is also the 30th anniversary of This Is Spinal Tap, the film fest will pay tribute to that beloved mockumentary by opening with the Rob Reiner classic.

Last year's CBGB Festival featured performances by My Morning Jacket and Grizzly Bear. Each event for this year's fest will be individually priced beginning at $10.
