My friends in HOPEWELL(ex Mercury Rev,who i saw open for PFP in 93) played swsw and got to see the show. They said words could not describe the vibe and the performance that Janes threw at all the new up in coming hipster bands of the moment . SWSW is supposed to be about up and coming new bands but Janes, of course, not Metallica, were the highlight of the whole event. Just about all of Nashville media couldn't get in, or were too lame to even try! There was alot of Nashville acts that played but didnt even try to see the show,It was a poor Nashville representation of the scene cause SWSW only picked the worst Nash bands. The Pink Spiders,by far were the best Nash band that played but couldn't see Janes due to their tour.
I know hydro has mentioned Hopewell, they do a great cover of "Of Course", they have a studio version, but on their myspace page they have a video of them doing it live. The singer is amazing.Check it out.
I have a friend that is the head programmer for a big radio station who went to Janes and The Pangea show.He said he has pics, so as soon as i can get em i'll put them up here.
