I just got around to watching this.
I still haven't listened to the audio.
It's a case of nothing being shocking.
Very cool clip.
I hope the recordings picked up Dave's tone as good as that video too.

Thanks for posting all those clips and your pics Mudget.

Here's a few more clips from the show that I found.

NIN/JA Concert Review

byJareb

I don’t attend a ton of concerts these days but when something as intriguing as a Nine Inch Nails farewell tour comes to my neck of the woods I almost feel obligated to attend. And when you add in the fact that the opening band is the new Street Sweeper Social Club I don’t even mind throwing down some coin for tickets. The NINJA tour also features a newly rebanded Jane’s Addiction as the headliner (get it, NIN plus JA gets you NINJA).

This concert certainly opens with a bang as the Street Sweeper Social Club certainly knows how to perform live. Boots Riley is the lead singer and Tom Morello is the famous guitarist known for his work on Rage Against the Machine and Audioslave. Speaking of these two bands if you are a fan, musically, of either than SSSC is going to be right up your alley. It didn’t take me more than two songs before I realized that this band carried a lot of the same style as Rage, and even though Riley is no Zack he still puts on a good show. SSSC played about 8 tracks before exiting the stage just before sundown. The crowd seemed pretty receptive to the new group and I predict a solid debut album from them when their first cd hits stores June 16th.

Before getting into NIN’s performance I should mention that the venue for this particular concert in Kansas City was the Starlight Theatre. This was my first show at the Starlight and I came away impressed. There doesn’t seem to be a bad place in this theatre to sit and watch a show with clean sight lines no matter where you are. And since the place isn’t very large even those in the back had a good view of the action on stage.

The main focus of this show for me was the annoucement that this tour was to be the last before NIN takes a long hiatus. For me there are few shows that are as much of a must see as a NIN show. Trent Reznor carefully orchestrates every tour to give his fans exactly what they want to see. And even at his age Trent has not showed signs of losing his energy on stage. This tour is no exception, and with no new album to promote Trent was free to break out some obscure songs to mix in with all the hits. Well all of the hits minus the biggest one that is, there was no Closer to be heard. Here is a rundown of all the songs that were played, in order,

“Now I’m Nothing”
“Terrible Lie”
“Discipline”
“March Of The Pigs”
“The Frail”
“The Wretched”
“Piggy (Nothing Can Stop Me Now)”
“The Becoming”
“Burn”
“Gave Up”
“Echoplex”
“The Fragile”
“The Way Out Is Through”
“Wish”
“Survivalism”
“Physical”
“The Hand That Feeds”
“Head Like A Hole”
“Hurt”

Excellent set list and one that any fan of the ‘Nails would appreciate. I have seen the NIN in concert twice before this and this had to be the most fun I’ve had at one of their shows. The band did an excellent job and at no point did any of the songs feel forced. The crowd ate up everything Trent threw at them, often applauding at the mere opening of a song. The energy was palpable between Trent and the crowd of adoring fans who relished the opportunity to say goodbye to one of the most influential bands of the last two decades. If this is really it for this band than I can’t think of a better way to go out than to throw nearly twenty songs from all points in your catalog at your fans.

Certainly I could only be let down by Jane’s Addiction, right? Well that was the case. Certainly I was in the minority in the crowd though as many others were indeed excited for JA to perform their set. And let me preface my review of this section of the concert with a disclaimer; I am not a Jane’s Addiction fan. There I said it. The band does not do it for me, and lead singer Perry Farrell’s voice is an irritation akin to the squeaking that is heard when cleaning windows. Not fingernails on chalkboard bad but not pleasant either. Add to this the bands propensity for playing songs that just meander about with no real structure and the only thing I can feel is the pounding that begins in my head. Also following something as riveting as Nine Inch Nails can only make most bands sound inferior. The band seemed to have good energy and chemistry on stage and most of the crowd could sing along with the hits, but it just didn’t work for me.

All in all the concert was a resounding success, mostly because of the skills of this man,

This blog 100% recommends seeing the N.I.N.J.A. tour in person if you still have a chance. You will not be disappointed.

"Add to this the bands propensity for playing songs that just meander about with no real structure"

JA's songs are far more structured than most bands' songs I can think of, including NIN. I think there is a familiarity problem here, and it usually comes down to Perry's voice. If you can't get into it, you're not going to get into the songs, you're not going to become familiar with the songs, and you aren't going to understand their intricate structures. Makes sense but I hate when reviewers (or bloggers, or whatever) make such a totally incorrect blanket statement like "(songs that)...just meander about with no real structure."
