1988.10.26 The Brewery, Raleigh, NC *confirmed*

Post by Mike »

Here's a show I've never heard of before today.
With time and some research we'll see if it turns out to be true and exactly when it happened.

The Brewery is a relevant and legendary music Venue in NC since 1983, will be demolished on Aug 1st, 2011. Having showcased such bands as Black Flag, Janes Addiction, pearl jam, The circle Jerks, Marilyn Manson, Nothingface, Twizted, Terror, Korn, Cartel, A day to remember, Alesana and almost any other Band that built their way up through touring. It will be Missed and remembered.
I did a little digging and found a website for the venue http://www.brewerync.com/

I'm guessing this show would have taken place between 1987 and 1989.
When exactly is the question?

Awesome :!: :!: :!: :!: :!:

I've been hoping to nail this one down since I first heard about it last year.

Man this stretch of shows in October is fucking brutal.

A demolition crew knocks down The Brewery, a popular live music venue in Raleigh for more than 27 years, on Tuesday to make way for a drugstore, a parking deck and apartments.

The Brewery's staff and regular patrons watched the demolition at 3009 Hillsborough St.

From its opening in 1983 through its final concert Saturday, The Brewery played host to names that came through Raleigh: Jane's Addiction, Georgia Satellites, Sheryl Crow, Blind Melon and Panic at the Disco. Local acts such as Corrosion of Conformity and Whiskeytown with Ryan Adams played there before going on to bigger fame.
