1989.02.18 Network, Pasadena, MD “CONFIRMED”

Post by Mike »

I was on a Zeppelin site I visit and they were discussing new additions over at Wolfgang's Vault.
These new additions are video and I wanted to have a look and see if any Jane's had been made available.
While there's nothing to report on that front I did decide to have a listen to the 2/20/89 show they host there.

While it's not the reason for my post, one of the comments did catch my eye.

Didn't see this show, but I think I saw the show the day before in Pasadena, MD at a place called Network. The band had the flu that day, so the energy was bit subdued. It was still a great show. Mountain Song got the crowd rocking. I remember Network did not allow slamming at all. If the goons caught you moshing, they would kick you out. This show brings back some fond memories.

I tried to contact astroboy1966 via a comment on the show but that was two days ago and they must have decided not to allow my post because it had links to this site and my email address.

Anyway I would think this show would not have happened the day before as it would be unlikely for the band to do four shows in four nights.

With that in mind I believe this show most likely too place on February 18, 1989 based on the dates we have.

I'm trying to dig up some info on this show this evening and ran across mention of it on someone's show list.

http://www.toomanyvoices.com/shows/

They list Little Caesar as the opening band and we have evidence of this for two shows in our database.

February 12, 1989 - The Cannery, Nashville, TN
http://janesaddiction.org/tour/show/jan ... 02-12/291/

February 17, 1989 - The Boathouse, Norfolk, VA
http://janesaddiction.org/tour/show/jan ... 2-17/1965/

Is this enough evidence to add this show into the database?
I don't know but where there's smoke there's usually fire.

Maybe but it up as 'questionable' and note that all we have to go on are 2 different mentions of people saying they went to the show. Although unconfirmed is also fine - really as long as we're noting the lack of solid info we've got, should be fine :noclue:

looking around on their FB and myspace but nothing really other than the fact that I noticed photographer Heather Harris has been following their career since the early days to current. She is responsible for the photos of Perry, Casey and Annie.

I looked into this one a bit more over the last two days and I'll never buy a Little Caesar's pizza again!

I added this show to the database as unconfirmed based on the info we have.

February 18, 1989 - The Network, Pasadena, MD
http://janesaddiction.org/tour/show/jan ... 2-18/2351/
Show Information:

This show's listing in the database stems from its mention in two places. One is astroboy1966's comment about this show on the Wolfgang's Vault page for the February 20,1989 show and the other is its presence on Bob's List of Shows. Listing this show as taking place on the 18th is a best guess based on the surrounding tour dates and the info we have.

BTW Little Caesar were the openers for this show. It’s a little hard to read but they’re listed on the flyer.
