Alternative rock innovators Jane's Addiction will headline this year's Common Ground Music Festival on July 8, heading up a lineup that also includes In This Moment, Here Come the Mummies, Alien Ant Farm, Vandalay, Eyes Set to Kill, Kaleido and Ana.

Fronted by charismatic vocalist Perry Farrell and legendary guitarist Dave Navarro, Jane's Addiction was an early force in the alternative rock movement that began in the late 1980s. Groundbreaking albums such as 1988's "Nothing's Shocking" and 1990's "Ritual de lo Habitual" introduced the band's theatrical mix of hard rock, punk and metal to the masses with hits such as "Jane Says," "Mountain Song," "Been Caught Stealing" and "Stop!"

Ferrell also founded Lollapalooza in 1991. The tour ran annually through 1997, was brought back in 2003 and cancelled the next year. But in 2005, Ferrell and company re-launched Lollapalooza as a destination festival in Chicago.

Jane's Addiction's latest studio album, "The Great Escape Artist," arrived in 2011.

In This Moment will also perform on July 8. Headed up by the golden-locked Maria Brink, the Los Angeles-based group crafts viciously beautiful songs, with vocals that are a mix of singing and screaming. The band snagged major hits in "Blood," "Sick Like Me" and more. Their latest album, "Black Widow," dropped last November.

More talent will come from Common Ground vets Here Come the Mummies, a favorite funk-R&B group that performs in full mummy gear; Alien Ant Farm, who are known for their amped-up cover of Michael Jackson's "Smooth Criminal"; female-fronted rock band Eyes Set to Kill; and some great Michigan bands, including Vandalay, Kaleido and Ana.

Single day tickets for July 8 will go on sale at 10 a.m. ET Thursday. Tickets may be purchased online at http://www.commongroundfest.com or by phone at 1-877‐569‐7767 between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. ET Monday through Friday.

General admission early bird tickets for July 8 are $39 plus charges while supplies last. Adult early entry general admission single day tickets run $49 plus charges. Kids (6-10) general admission single day tickets are $10 plus charges, and kids early entry tickets are $15 plus charges. All ticket prices will increase closer to the festival. Children under 6 are free. Additional ticket options and pricing, including VIP, are also available.

The 16th annual Common Ground Music Festival is set for July 7 through 12 at Adado Riverfront Park in downtown Lansing.

As previously reported, pop singer Meghan Trainor will headline the festival on July 7. The Band Perry, Parmalee and Old Dominion will bring their country tunes to Common Ground on July 9. More acts will be announced closer to the festival.
