Wow, that was shockingly lame.

I sincerely hope any company who uses classic songs to sell their latest piece of shit all get the AIDS.

I still and always will love Dave though. They must have paid him a TON for those little bits about liking Hyundai

Great to see Dave on some LP, it's been a while. Thanks for this Mike

Wow I just watched this again and noticed Dave's playing the drums too!
I dunno how I missed it the first time I checked it out.

I'm a huge Kinks fan and respectfully disagree with you saying it's "shockingly lame".
To each their own and all that but I really think that's kinda harsh.

While not every artist or band lends their songs or talents to products, in this day and age it's very common place and I see no reason Dave shouldn't be able to do something like this.

I'm sure Dave has bills to pay just like the rest of us and I'd much rather he pick up his guitar and do something like this as apposed to getting a 9 to 5 job someplace.

I'm looking forward to hearing the complete song at some point in time.
Hopefully they'll make it available for folks to download or purchase.

Yeah I noticed that straight away and I think he's got a great tone on those bits in the video.

No one can re-create a Kinks song... Not even Dave...

The primitive recording equipment and background noise/tape compression in the Kinks recording give it a character that cannot be reproduced. And when someone tries to record it , especially for a car commercial, it is Uber lame... And Dave will probably be the first one to admit that. I understand he has Bills to pay and i dont want hime to starve. It wont stop me loving Dave. Career musicians need to do these things from time to time.. why not eh? But lets be real and call a spade a spade.

I get where you're coming from as far as the recording process goes Jimmy and I agree.
The recording technology of today is vastly different than that of the '60s but IMO if they really wanted to they could make something recorded today sound like it was recorded years ago though I doubt that's what they were going for.

At any rate I'm still excited to hear the complete finished track and I have absolutely no problem with Dave covering this song regardless of its use.

I saw the commercial this was used in tonight and it's more or less a generic car commercial.
What I wanna know is where can I / we get the complete song?
It sounds fucking great!
