1990.06.29 La Ultima Carcajada de la Cumbancha, Mexico City

Post by Mike »

I was doing my regular search this morning and thought I'd finally lucked into a date for this show.
No such luck however but maybe posting this will spark somebody's memory.
Urban Nomad: Aldo from Maldita Vecindad Talks Collectivism, Jane's Addiction at SmokeOut Festival

By Urban Nomad, Wed., Oct. 20 2010 @ 1:00PM

Urban Nomad, the gregarious Jeremiah Alexis, will be shooting exclusive video for LA Weekly. Make sure you check out the previous installments here.

The URBAN NOMAD returns to Cypress Hill's SmokeOut Festival 2010 to commune with '80s rock en español collective Maldita Vecindad. Bassist Aldo talks about sharing ideas with the world through music, gives us the scoop on the band's first album in 11 years, Circular Colectivo, and fondly recalls one of his favorite on-tour moments in Pomona, MX, where he and Jane's Addiction rocked 'til dawn at a secret pool party.

The Jane's related portion of the video starts approximately 2:15 in.

Somebody's got to have the Mexico City date--perhaps some crazed Maldita fan with a ticket stub. As for the frailness of memory, the Jane's hosted show is, of course, the Mt. Baldy, CA show pre-ritual release (not in Pomona, though close, and certainly not in MX--Mexico?).

I hear you tvrec, somebody's got to have something or at least you'd think so.
I've looked at all the usual places I search with no luck whatsoever.

the show was very good, in the beginning the crowd was a little uncomfortable with the band because nobody knew Janes or Perry. Perry he is a crazy guy
So their were playing and playing amazing the people gone crazy, I remember Perry doing stage diving and nobody caught him so he hit the floor haha and sombody made a joke "welcome to sacred ground" ,you know those things happen in a gig with Janes Addiction"
