Ritual on RS top 100 albums of the 90s

Post by helicine »

Maybe this is an old list, but Rolling Stone listed Ritual de lo Habitual at number #55 in the top 100 albums of the 90s.

Ritual should be much higher. Those lists always suck ass, especially the RS ones. Ritual should be top ten in my opinion where I attempt to be objective, and #1 as far as I'm personally concerned.

I hope these stupid lists at least help get albums like this some new fans, but Rolling Stone has been completely irrelevant for a long time.

I wouldn't say RS is irrelevant, these days they're still far more relevant than say MTV, but I'd agree they're less relevant than they used to be.

The lists are interesting in that they generate some discussion, but like most lists like that, they're terribly inconsistent and terribly subjective.

For example, on their list of the best albums of the 90s, Pearl Jam's Vitalogy ranks at #52, three spots higher than Ritual de lo Habitual. Yes in the 2003 list of the 500 Best Albums of All Time, Vitalogy ranks at #492 with Ritual well past them at #453. That's just one example of many.

yes of course but his collocation after an ll cool j album is simply absurd! whatever is the ll cool jay ranking! and for the truth even if I do not like depeche mode i think violator deserves a better position than this 56.

I've heard someone says that mtv chart placed Jimi Hendrix as the fourth! :) :) :) :) :) :) .....and the first? Kurt Cobain?? Billy Joe armstrong? Michael Angelo Batio?? (che cazzo di tamarro)
