I thought it was a malnourished person, not a corpse. Never did I think it was a dead person, and I still don't, but, I do wonder why they thought it would be a good cover.

Well, if that's true, it's even more nasty than I thought it was already. i think it was just a picture of a dead person/malnurished and perry cut it out and stood it up, where it would look like it was dancing.Jasper wrote:I thought it was a malnourished person, not a corpse. i think it's brilliant. probably my favorite story behind a cover. and i really like the cover myself.
i think perry explains this in that reunion interview they did for some magazine.

I've seen it mentioned around on the www in a few places.Jasper wrote:Well, if that's true, it's even more nasty than I thought it was already. I'm sure if I spent some time I could dig up some links for you and I'll try and take time to do that.
I think Sonny might be right about the magazine interview they did containing mention of this.
Not positive about that though and I'm not positive I'm thinking of the same magazine.
The one that comes to mind is Musician and it came out some time around the Triple XXX re-release of the EP.
I have it here somewhere in a box and I'll try to hunt it down.

19 A.) What exactly came with Worktape 1?
I scored my copy used long after the fact and have long wondered what exactly was in there when it was new?
Based on the scans Jay sent us it came with the lyric sheet, the info sheet, and the promo photo.
On our info page for this release we make mention of the following patch:

http://janesaddiction.org/discography/p ... orktape-1/
I don't believe this patch really came with the tape and I exchanged emails a while back with a fan named Greg that purchased his copy of the tape from the band back in the day.
Here's what he had to say:

19 B.) This question is from Greg"s email: I'm curious as to how many of these Worktape 1 packages were made?

There's a copy of Worktape 1 for sale on ebay right now and what I believe is the sticker (lower right hand corner) Greg mentions is included with the tape.Hi Mike,
I'd previously seen your entry for the Worktape and my first reaction was, "Huh? A patch? I didn't get one of those." Maybe it got lost but I don't ever recall there being one. Certainly isn't in the box I have now.
But! What mine *does* have that yours doesn't is ... a sticker! It's square-ish, in black with PSI above the "Psi Com man" figure and COM below - the PSI and figure and COM are in white. There are concentric black lines around the edge of the black area with white space in between; the effect is much like a picture frame. In other words, imagine the logo from the top of the turquoise "Inside 2" sheet in your scans, only as described.
Otherwise, your scans have similar content to mine. I do have to admit that my 3 enclosed sheets do look in better shape than yours - mine are basically pristine, with no discoloration like I see in yours.
I have no problems with you sharing the e-mail. I'm curious as to how many of these Worktape 1 packages were made - yours and mine are the only ones I'm aware of in existence, although obviously lots (for some definition of 'lots') more must be still out there somewhere. I'm also interested to know how the tracks ended up on that one guy's Web site, along with the other 3 tracks you mentioned. Unfortunately I don't know anything about those, other than that I suspect they might have been played at their gigs that I attended.
The reason why I say I have a poor memory is because I do! I remember going to the gigs but that's about it. Obviously since I have the Worktape 1 package I went! But it's weird, it's like I have this evidence but it isn't reinforced by memory - do you get what I mean? I remember liking them a lot when I saw them while they still had Rich Evac on bass and his wife(?) Marisska, but I can't say I have any memory of the songs (as I heard them live) to reinforce that feeling - just what's on this Worktape 1.
BTW, I also have a copy of the "LA Mantra II" tape which came in very similar packaging to "Worktape 1", i.e. "Contagion CassettePack" © 1984. It's a shame that the Psi Com track on it is "Theme" and not something else that wasn't on "Worktape 1". Great compilation though!
Greg

seems like an extreme package for 3 songs. must've been for shopping to record labels or something.

I know this is a long shot but any info you can provide will be very helpful.
I realize that you left the band at some point in 1984 but I included the shows from 1985 because there are a few in red that we're not 100% sure took place in 1985 and maybe they actually happened while you were still in the band?
If you can think of any shows we don't have on the list I'd love to know about them too so we can add them in too.
