Show related tweets from Dan Cleary:
One of the longest days of my life, topped off by the most interesting Jane's Addiction shows I've ever seen.
Show was interesting because Perry was on fire! Nevet seen him funnier than he was last night. He was like vintage Richard Pryor up there!

Last night's show marks the first time that more than one song from the upcoming album The Great Escape Artist was played at a show.

Here's the complete set list compliments of a friend to the site.

That's hilarious because in the following review the reviewer was certainly not of the same opinion as Dan.
Review | Buzz Beach Ball at Livestrong Sporting Park

For more than eight hours on Friday, Livestrong Sporting Park played host to 10 bands on two stages as part of the Buzz Beach Ball. The show, put on by 96.5 the Buzz, featured the headliners Bush, Incubus, and Jane's Addiction, all three whom have deep roots in '90s alternative rock scene.

The setup was nice. Two stages were set up at opposite ends of the field, which meant the wait between bands was kept to a minimum.

At its peak, the stadium looked a little more than half-full, so around 10,000 people, roughly one-third of which left after Incubus finished. That's too bad because after a rough start, Jane's Addiction put on a short, but fiery show.

Jane's Addiction: One of the founding bands of the 90s alternative scene, Jane's originally broke up in 1991 and created the music festival Lollapalooza as its farewell tour. Though the years, the band has reunited off and on, and Friday featured three of the four original members.

With lasers and dancers suspended above the stage, the visual show was solid, but singer Perry Farrell got in the way of the band's music, spending time between sets making many lewd comments and not so subtle innuendo that drew some uncomfortable laughter from the audience. He made the error of saying he was in Missouri, an honest mistake, but the 52-year-old Farrell made a point to mention the Show-me State after every song – even breaking into an impromptu, and R-rated, song about it.

But about halfway through the 11-song set, Farrell calmed down, relatively, and the band let loose for some of the best moments of the night. Guitarist Dave Navarro showed his skill as one of the alternative music's best guitarists on songs like "Three Days" and "Ocean Size."

Songs spanned all four of the band's albums, and included their hits "Been Caught Stealing," "Stop," and "Jane Says."

When the band came out for its encore, Farrell apologized for not knowing which state he was in – although it was unclear if he ever knew where he was. He then waxed philosophic about life and death for several minutes before going into "Jane Says."

Setlist: Whores; Ain't No Right; Just Because; Ted, Just Admit it...; Been Caught Stealing; End of the Lies; Three Days; Irresistible Force; Ocean Size; Stop; Jane Says

Incubus: The Calabasas, Calif. quintet drew the largest reaction and, it appeared, the biggest crowd of the night.

The 90-minute set included songs from six albums dating back to 1997. During the last several years, the alt-rock band has mellowed its sound considerably. But aside from the soulful, almost adult contemporary influenced "Promises, Promises" from their latest album, Incubus stuck to the alt-rock that made them popular.

Singer and indie rock heartthrob Brandon Boyd has a great and unique voice, which complements the rest of the band of technically proficient musicians who play their instruments with mechanical precision. The vibe was more laid back than rock, even during songs harder songs like "Circles" and "Vitamin."

The musicianship was tight, almost to a fault, It maintained a high level of energy, but could never quite take the next step into a fever pitch. It was good, but it would have been nice to hear them break out a little bit more.

Setlist: Pardon Me; Wish You Were Here; Adolescents; Consequence; Anna Molly; Promises, Promises; Circles; Vitamin; When it Comes; In the Company of Wolves; A Crow Left of the Murder; Drive; Isadore; Nice to Know You; Megalomaniac

Bush: The first of the three main headliners brought the most nostalgia with a nine song set that finished 15 minutes ahead of schedule.

Although they played two songs from an upcoming album, over half of the set list contained songs from the 1994 hit release "Sixteen Stone."

It wasn't bad, just predictable. Singer and songwriter Gavin Rossdale injected some passion into the set, but the rest of his bandmates didn't follow suit. (Rossdale and drummer, Robin Goodridge are the only original members left.)

The highlight was a nearly eight-minute version of "Everything Zen" and a cover of The Beatles' "Come Together," which prompted the biggest singalong of the set.

Setlist: Machinehead; Little Things; The Chemicals Between Us; Afterlife; Everything Zen; The Sound of Winter; Glycerine; Come Together; Comedown

Other highlights of the afternoon included an energetic set from the Provo, Utah, group Neon Trees. The four-piece new wave act has had their single "Animal" charted on the Billboard top 100 and, more interestingly, has been used for a mash-up on the television show "Glee.'

The Sacremento duo Middle Class Rut provided a tight Fugazi-esque set that was louder and than most bands twice the size. It would be nice to see them come around again.

AWOLNation, the brain child of California-based musician Aaron Bruno played an entertaining set too.Iits single "Sail" stood out among other songs.

Nightwatchman, Tom Morello's alter ego along with his band he calls the Freedom Fighting Orchestra opened the day at the main stage. His message of unionizing and solidarity was straight out of a Woody Guthrie songbook. Morello's handiwork on the guitar helped elevate the songs' appeal.
