Sorry, I veto the Hammerstein Summertime

It's perfect, the way Perry screams his lungs out at the end of the song is just so, you know, he really sounds like he means it. The fact that it's off key even adds to the charm :) And then how the crowd helps him sing the end ....

Nah sorry, Hammerstein, no question. I could mix the "Happy summertime mf's" before the intro though :)

My idea for this comp was that, there's so many boots out there, and so many different versions of the songs, that there must be a certain version of a version song on a boot somewhere that's just fantastic.

Like Mike and Eric say, we all know the Palladium show, so no point in using that, that's I wanted to have the opinion of all the Janes freaks. Where are the hidden gems?

And I hear ya Mike, about the volume problem. That's why I hope that someone with more knowledge than me will actually be able to master the mix tape.

The Kettle Whistle on Love Junkies is not so good indeed. But for some reason, I love that boot, that's why I wanted to include a song.

Kettle Whistle from 7/10/87 (Hands down)
Pigs n Zen, Mt Song, Trip Away from 11/13/86
Aint No Right, Three days from 12/19/90
Suffer Some, Summertime (Not live) but should be from Song List.
It's all subjective and we all have our personal favorites but I'd use Kettle Whistle from this show:

November 25, 1988 - Cabaret Metro, Chicago, IL

Both Ain't No Right and Three Days from 12/19/90 have been officially released so I wouldn't include them even though they're fantastic renditions. If I want to hear either of those I bust out the Box Set.

As for the demos of Suffer Some and Summertime Rolls, I think the fact that they're demos eliminates them from consideration based on Mescal saying he wants the best live versions for his comp but it's his comp and maybe he'll change his mind and agree with you. Although again both songs have now been officially released.

My vote for Summertime Rolls goes to the August 16, 1991 Lolla show. I know it's a SBD and I said I'd use only audience recordings but the "Happy summertime mother fuckers!" intro by Perry has got to be one of the best song intros ever.
Kettle from 7/10/87 is ther best Kettle Whistle there is from allll the boots. No questions asked. Is this just my opion? Yes, but I'm right...haha! Blows the Kettle from 11/25/88 out of the water!

I will also say 11/13/86 is (in my opionion), is one of the top 3 live recordings of Jane's Addiction in ALL years.

So I would for sure include at least one song from that one. Mt Song perhaps? The blew the roof off the Pyramid that night! The sound is amazing. And the band was on fire.

If I go back in time, that is one show I would have liked to go see live.

Yeah this is a pretty nice comp and I think I like it better than my effort of a few years back.
I dunno what you used to trim or cut the waves but it left SBEs on pretty much all the tracks I've listened to thus far.
Which is a shame really because those pops are freaking annoying.

As Charles mentioned there's some date/info that is wrong on some of the tracks (more than a few).
I'd be more than happy to correct some of this if you want me to?

Despite the above it's still a fun listen and thanks for sharing it.

Will do Trevor.
It's probably not a big deal to most but wrong dates being associated with shows and recordings really annoys me.
I've said it before but truth be told it's a case of me being anal retentive when it comes to this stuff.

I'll go back and look everything over when I get time but some of what you have wrong appears to be typos and I can think of at least one show where based on a flyer I found we changed the date of the show.
