where are the Great Escape Artist outtakes?
They said they recorded so many songs, and planned to release a bunch of the stuff that was cut from the album. But then the "deluxe edition" of the album only had live bonus tracks (Mexico show), no additional studio songs, and no singles/EPs have been released with any b-sides; no exclusive compilation/soundtrack songs er nothing. It sucks.. I wanna hear that other stuff. Come on, guys, put it out there for the fans! I love the album and want to hear the stuff that didn't make the cut. I'm certain there's at least a handful of excellent tracks.

HOPEFULLY, after this tour ends, they'll get another album recorded..but this is Janes! They'll take another 5 years off unfortunately! I love TGEA. I just hope we get another one before Perry's 60!

I am betting its more like load and reload, they recorded a bunch of ideas but only finished the best ones, which means they need to finish the leftovers before they can be released. Unfortunately I also bet that the ideas sound really good but perry will try to cram every nook with his vocals like he did on tgea and all the janes open space feel will disappear. Maybe they are working on it right now! Considering how often the release date of tgea got pushed back I wouldn't count on anything too soon.

We will never hear any outtakes.
Perry could barely write enough lyrics for the songs they released, so why would anyone think whatever remaining jams/snippets/pro tools created "songs" that got recorded, he actually worked on?

Spacy instrumental jams would be great to hear. If Perry sings on em, cool, if not, that's fine too.ejs wrote:We will never hear any outtakes.

I miss the era of the CD Single and the bonus/unheard tracks they'd contain.
There was nothing quite like popping in the Stop! / Three Days single and hearing the demo for I Would For You for the first time.
I think it's a bygone era though and the best we can hope for is the band releasing outtakes / live versions of songs on their own once their deal with Capitol expires.

I believe they had a 2 album deal w/ Capitol - so, in theory they're free and clear
