I guess everyone is aware of the new show "married to Rock" feature Etty and Perry.

I wont go into a Xiola style tirade but come on man... ick

I am not suggesting anything by saying this, I just hope Duff's stay in the band had nothing to do with the show.

:looloo:

anyway... here is the synopsis for the first episode:
Etty and husband Perry Farrell's relationship is in jeopardy when Perry's friend crosses the line.
That's reality TV for ya. :yeay:

I think Duff was brought in to help write, this reality junk just happened to come up after he was already involved. I'm really shocked that Perry is central to the first episode's plot. It gets even more lame.

I will watch it out of sheer curiousity, nothing more.

I personally am not bothered by Perry or Etty's involvement in this show.
They're grown people and can do whatever they want.

I also never had a problem with Dave doing Rockstar or Til Death.
Matter of fact I watched Rockstar religiously and really enjoyed it.

Anyway different strokes for different folks.
Some are gonna like it and some are gonna hate it.

I hear you, they are adults. I'm not personally offended, I have real things that worry me in life. It's just kind of sad that integrity is being thrown out the window. Reality shows are for nobody's and for washed up or over weight celebrities. Perry is an artist and member of two successful bands. Etty is a successful dancer. I don't understand why they'd do this reality show stuff.

That's how I feel about it......If you dont put yerself on a level above this type of thing...How is anyone else gonna respect you....It change's how people see yer art..look at Ozzy'z tv show...was a huge hit..It also is where I stopped looking at him as a artist....I hope it's good for them...But come on !!!! This is Perry Farrell !!!!... He is way above this Kendra type show...I <3 Perry....And Etty is cool...But I dont think this is good for his art...celebrity maybe?...but it makes you look plastic and fake..shallow.....Id love to see Perry & Etty in a show that does sumpthing to help people..Like when he helped free the slaves...Or feed the hungry......Something real and wonderful.....Im praying for a tasty new Jane's album

i always wondered what would turn the die hard perry fans. this maybe the point at which people start drawing a real line from this, back to everything the "haters" have been talking about.

I caught the first episode this morning. As reality TV goes, so far it isn't as full of faux-drama as a lot of shows. It definitely feels the Farrell's involvement is to increase public awareness of Etty and her career. I guess I don't have a problem with that, and it definitely feels like it is more about the woman rather than a backhanded way to be about their mates (which is a good thing). Obviously the guys will all be around, but if the show gets at least a bit of each woman's real personality out there, then it's a good thing for them. I definitely feel it's been more representative of how Etty was in real life (in the, albeit limited amount of interaction I had w/ her last spring), than how she may have been perceived previously through other media and online interactions. So again, that's a positive.

Still, like most reality shows, it feels very staged. Not to imply that's the fault of the show's personalities, that's just how reality programming is made. Regardless, I'll stick with it for now. Something mindless to watch while I do my early morning work each Monday.
