Good catch Henry. Your right! 4/28/89 from JAFT (Idiots Rule Cd) is a SNB. The Chicago is a SNB too, but only on cassette tape.
Wait, now I'm confused. Tracks 9 through 15 of Idiots Rule (v3), which ARE soundboard recordings--and appear identical to much of disc two of Addicted, include several songs ("Mountain Song," "Ain't No Right," "Chip Away") that aren't included on our set list for April 28, 1989:

http://janesaddiction.org/tour/show/jan ... 04-28/320/

So is the set list for that date wrong or was the second half of Idiots Rule (v3) in fact recorded on a different date? My guess is that is actually April 29, 1989, i.e., the same partial soundboard recording as on the Had a Dad bootleg:

http://janesaddiction.org/bootography/j ... had-a-dad/

The song sequence matches and there's the same splice into the last track, "Chip Away." Thoughts?

Ahhhh the myth of the JAFT shows. Your good Henry. I've been trying to figure this out for 14 years now. Very confusing, I know. This is what I think:

Idiots rule (v3) tracks 9-16 are from 4/29/89.
Had a Dad tracks 1-8 are from 4/29/89.

Mike/Erik want to shed some light on this?

I think Henry is probably right. The 4/28 and 4/29 JAFT shows have been mixed up a lot over the years. I can't even keep track of it by memory anymore.

I never owned that Idiots Rule boot, but Had a Dad is actually..

Tracks 1-6, 8: 04/29/1989 – John Anson Ford Theatre, Hollywood, Los Angeles, CA
Track 7: 04/28/1989 – John Anson Ford Theatre, Hollywood, Los Angeles, CA

the song "had a dad" is actually from 4/28 ("he was leaving Coca-Cola with no fucking ice back there, I said bull shit, man!"), while the rest are from 4/29. Listen to the audience recordings to verify.

So yeah, that would mean in a vault/closet somewhere are likely full sbd pro recordings of both shows. I wouldn't be surprised if most/all of those JAFT 4/89 shows were recorded.

It'd be so cool if the band/Perk would release some of these things.. physical releases would be nice, but even a download-only thing would be cool. like how bands like Pearl Jam and Smashing Pumpkins are always digging up stuff to share with their fans. No offense to the current lineup, but a complete JAFT 89 show would've made a way better TGEA bonus disc than that recent Mexico show. but there might be a label/rights issue. oh well.

Idiots rule (v3) tracks 9-16
Had a Dad tracks 1-8

Both are the exact same song order and recording. (Coca Cola) Had a Dad intro is on both recordings.

We will have to go to our old dusty cassette tapes and try and figure out which date they really are, or where the recording is spliced for the 4/28 and 4/29 if it is at all??

Gavin, can you please help out with this? You have a good ear for this stuff.
