High quality live Porno for pyros hard to find. Why no pro quality to find I do not know. Live p4p of interest. This is true because Live they do different version than album take.

helicine - i've been obsessing janes since 89 .. pfp did not impress at first but i ALWAYS love going back and listening to them .. as a guitarist i am likely more critical of the guitar sounds than the average head banger and i really like petes style much more than daves .. but i do love janes .. and pfp arent pure gold by any means .. i mean wishing well and dominator dont really thrill me but then again neither do standing in the shower or idiots rule and actually i am pretty sick of hearing mountain song .. not only is it over saturated but they butcher it live these days so janes came first ... saw them 3 times prior to break up and collected a good 50 boots back then ... now up to like 300 hundred

mike .. i know this is a janes bored but thought it was safe to show some pfp love on a pfp thread .. however i know u dont like when i dis daves guitar work so i will just say .. he is not all bad but some of his metal style really grates on me when listening to janes .. i will cite ocean size as an example of a throwaway solo that just cheapens the janes experience for me .. he does great stuff too .. dont get me wrong .. but if i could get him to play more tastefully like pete .. melodically like page and hendrix (hes capable of it see 3 days) and less like a modern rock metal head i think we'd get some janes with more mojo less flash ... i'd really like to see him attempt some epic harmonic riffage ala achilles last stand ... and i am still very upset that i cant even listen to strays .. there is something very wrong with that record ... i like to distinguish myself from the usual strays bashers in that i really like some of perrys other work some of sat party and song yet still blow me away, spread banyan pfp polar bear .. i love them all quite a lot .. so its not really about picking anyone apart but about really really wanting those guys to live up to there potential and NOT make another LAZY modern rock record.

hidefumi - i have a janes comp mastered and ready to go i have been working on called SWEET JANE - i ran everything thru my studio gear and cleaned up as much tape his and eq as i could .. i took best performances over best quality every time .. this is 3 full cds that make cabinet look like song list with a few b-sides and the aint no right show tacked on .. i have been pondering doing something similar with pyros soon .. but for now if u are looking for soundboard pfp i would say the osaka show is one of the best for perfomance and sound quality ... i dont know of any full shows that are soundboard from the good gods tour but maybe they exist .. i didnt collect as much pfp .. but the real treats are the acoustic tent pfp shows .. ps. i also completed a psi com live disk as well with ... wait for it ... bass all the way thru the psi com theme

oh and also hidefumi the crystal studios demos are high quality pfp .. these are the good gods demos .. totally dif than album versions high quality and very enjoyable .. but i dont know why more sbd did not leak .. but then again the dave and flea show at roseland ball room not sbd but still very good quality good gods era ... tho i like mike watt better than flea .. it has a rare hardcharger and dave sits in for 5 songs .. thats my recommend if u have not already found these shows :)

mike, since yer a big dave fan do u know if there are any spread shows or dave solo shows ... i thought he did a lil tour one time .. i remember he was lookin for a band and i wrote to him and someone wrote back sayin the band had to be all girls ... and as far as getting the metal issue i bring up .. i think the motley crue shirt on the cover of a janes record says it all ... pure blasphemy as far as janes album covers go ... ugh

there are no Spread shows, but Dave did play a handful of shows in 2001, a few of those were recorded

I love seeing the love for Pete!
he's such an awesome person I dont know if words could describe him,but his music does.Pete's such a down to earth, honest musician that plays from his heart.
I admire Pete,he's always trying to learn more about the guitar and the scales,I think hes great and a master at it but he don't and I don't think he will ever allow himself to think he is.He is humble. When he plays it's for no other reason than the music,it's about the music, not looks, money or fame, just honest music. As he calls it, he connects to "the wire" and the ghost and spirits are released through the guitar. He says there needs to be more colors in music not just black and white.layers of emotions/colors/sounds gives music texture and makes it real.

Trevor, I've got absolutely ZERO problem with you lovin' on PFP.
I'm a big fan of theirs too and I don't get what in my post would make you think otherwise or make you think it's not OK to talk about them here? :noclue:

Like I said disagree with some of what you posted (read your opinion of Dave's playing) but I have no problem with it because it was done respectfully and wasn't some whack attacking bullshit post.

That said I do like some of your thoughts and the Achilles Last Stand is right up my alley.
Hard to believe Strays has been out for seven years now and we're still beating up on it. :deadhorse:
Not that there's anything wrong with discussing it and in some way it shows we care.
I think the main complaint about it is the production and hopefully the band are aware of our concerns as fans and are going in a different direction on the current recording sessions.

I asked you in my previous post if you could post something Dave's playing that you don't like so I could have a better idea of where you're coming from and I'd still like it if you could?

Didnt you dig Randy Rhoads Trevor?.....He used all the metal tricks in the book...listen to Diary of a Madman...he touched on so many different styles ...I love all sounds and styles...I love guitarist who can go from full on pinch harmonics to sugar plum fairy.....It creates for me a larger palette of colors to choose from IMHO  ;)

Production of Good Gods Urge reach climax all works of Perry Farrell. He say they spend 3 years to make it. I am sad no more Pyros after it. I am sad they do not know how good it is. It is ultimate model. The island sound.

Dave have you heard of a group called the Polyphonic Spree? They remind me of Jane’s/Porno. The vocalist in Polyphonic Spree should be paying Perry massive royalties he sounds just like him lol>>>>>> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1rp6Ttrmvlw
I buy Polyphonic Spree. Spree is like p4p. Flaming Lips is like p4p. You know other band sound close to Porno For Pyros you can post them?

hi
mike the song "ocean size" on "nothings shocking" is the example i cited regarding daves solo style but i will say again .. i like a lot of what dave does but some of it not so much.

as for rhandy roads :) he is ok .. i liked some of those ozzy years but compared to tony iomi on say "supernaut" now there is a song i cant get enough of ... first 4 black sabbath records sound great ... i never got into the 80's METAL sound tho i respect van halen and randy and a few bands that embrace the metal sound. i like the old classic metal sound of sabbath and zep and i like raw stuff like the stooges and i really love old black flag dead kennedys misfits the cure .. i think that is why i love janes boots much more than the actual records they are raw distorted in yer face and i dont have to cringe at the over compressed studio production

ex. aint no right live b-side on classic girl and live and rare blows the ritual version out of the water .. but that is just my taste

pyros was a shocker production wise simply because it was such a different sound from the start ... the big complaint was "where is the bass?" but i also heard pete say he cried after the first record cuz it sounded exactly the way he wanted it to for the first time in his recording history and stephen told me that he loved the drum sound on pyros much much more than what jerdan did with the janes records .. pyros was just more real sounding as far as instruments go ... kinda like the xxx record was

i love pete @ perrypalooza during meija he flubs a lil trying to get his guitar chord back in the jack during meija then to compensate he totally rocks it out .. and the dynamic of the acoustic shows never seems to disappoint .. no bass player just congas pete and perry and still it sounds full and he even manages a few guitar solos ..
