Do you think it might be "He thought he knew me back in the day...when I was down but now that seemz like a hell"...end to the lies....hmmmm I know my ears are fucked now...but some fresh meat will crack it Jasp <3
I keep going over this part too
id guess "he thought he knew me back in the day but when I was down seemed like nobody helped"

I think in this live version he says something like "'cause I was down but..."
I don't think he could have fit "but when" in there--too awkward and there seems to be only one syllable.
I have no idea what he says after that. Yeah, it sounds like
hell, but it could be a lot of things. It's too garbled for me to come up with anything that makes sense.

From The Tour…
So far the tour has been going really well. I haven’t lost a single adapter or vital piece of electronics so its a win in terms of travel. The shows have been a lot of fun and it has been really great getting back into the live aspect of our jobs. Sure, we may be a little rusty and out of shape here and there, but that is mainly due to the fact that we have been on the studio diet and exercise plan for over a month… You know, eat whatever is around and very little physical activity. We have spent the majority of our time playing together working on the new material, letting our instincts guide the way when it comes to the back catalogue. More than likely, we will be a finely tuned and well oiled live machine just as it’s time to turn around and go home! Isn’t that always the way? We have, however, been able to throw one of our new songs, “End to the Lies” into the show. The song isn’t even out yet, but it feels good to at least break up the set we have been doing… Even if it’s only one departure. There is a level of unknown excitement that comes with performing a song nobody knows. Perhaps a slight feeling of the past when our audience didn’t know ANY of our music. We have 2 more shows on this trip. One in Lima, Peru and the other in Mexico City. Then it is back to the studio to finish up our record. It’s always good to have some live experiences as a band before wrapping up an album.
BTW The new song, “End to the Lies” will be made available at
http://janesaddiction.com/ in the next day or two.

Jane's Addiction releasing free song Wednesday
By Ray Waddell
NASHVILLE (Billboard) - With the first ever Lollapalooza Chile in Santiago now in the books, festival co-founder Perry Farrell's focus turns to his band, Jane's Addiction, which will offer the first single off its upcoming album as a free download Wednesday on janesaddiction.com.
The new album "The Great Escape Artist," the group's first in eight years, will be released Aug. 23 on Capitol Records, according to Farrell.
He played an early mix of the song, "End To The Lies," on Chilean radio last week while he was in that country ramping up for Lollapalooza's first festival outside of the U.S.
Lollapalooza Chile "went over really well," Farrell told Billboard. "In my mind I almost kind of underplayed it, expecting maybe mediocrity, and then if something better than that happens, you're delighted. Man, from the very first moment they opened the gates and people came in and I saw them doing it the same way the that they do it in Chicago, I knew we were on."
Lollapalooza Chile was staged April 2-3 with a lineup that included his band as well as Kanye West, the National, the Killers, 30 Seconds To Mars, Fatboy Slim, Deftones, Cypress Hill, 311 and the Flaming Lips, along with local and regional artists.
As for the new album, Farrell said it was "70%-80% finished" and that it celebrates "escape from the confines of everyday life, escape from the workload, escape from your past, dissolving into the universe and getting a feeling like that."
Meanwhile, Lollapalooza's 20th anniversary festival at Chicago's Grant Park is set for Aug. 5-7, with a full lineup to be announced later this month.

I wonder if this free release will:
1. Be a different mix than what was played on the Chilean radio
2. Be the final mix which will appear on the album
This should be up by the time I get home from work tonight. I'll be interested to hear any differences.
