id be cautious guys, I think that JA myspace is run by a "fan" they havent put out any more info than we have here.
Nick Maybury changed his status on his myspace but one person did leave him a comment saying "exciting news about Perry! OMG!" and he knows this person.I just wonder what that was all about *raised eyebrow* lol
2 more days to go and we will all find out!!

It's good to be cautious, but the info on the page is more than we have had here through speculation or through Janesaddiction.com:hydro wrote:id be cautious guys, I think that JA myspace is run by a "fan" they havent put out any more info than we have here.
If we take the myspace page at its word--
1) The date refers to a gig (as opposed to an announcement or something else.)
2) The gig is in downtown LA (which means venues such as The Hotel Cafe, The Roxy, and so on are not potential hosts)
3) The gig is at 9:00 p.m.
Now, that does not mean that the info is golden, but it has gone beyond what has been relayed through the boards. By Thursday we'll know detail (we hope!), and we'll also know how reliable the myspace page might be as a source.

Jane's Addiction secret show this fall in L.A.?
10:57 AM PT, Oct 16 2008
I ran into Jane's Addiction frontman Perry Farrell Monday at Les Deux (it was a scene worthy of "Entourage" -- porn stars "actresses" aplenty were at the packed bar to support alt-porn queen Joanna Angel's newest DVD, "XOXO Joanna Angel"), and had the chance to talk a bit about the Jane's Addiction reformation earlier this year at the NME Awards USA.
To my surprise, Farrell said that Jane's is actually looking to play again locally, and soon.
Pop & Hiss has confirmed this week that the band is in talks to play a very small bar in Los Angeles sometime this fall. We won't ruin the surprise of where the show will likely take place, but let's just say that those who get to see the show, if it indeed happens, will be very lucky indeed.
Here is a hint: The concert will likely be held on a Thursday night. Still unknown at this point is if original Jane's Addiction bass player Eric Avery will perform with the band, as he did in April in a short set for the NME Awards gig, but I'm operating under the assumption that he might.

The Mint isn't in Downtown LA. I am thinking this will be some flashmob thing. What about the newly restored Vertigos on Temple? I could think plenty of possibilities for this space. Right by the 10, in the thick of downtown, not a real busy street and has that Scream, small goth club feel to it. Actually it is up the street from the second Scream location. For people who aren't familar with this place, it was like a mini powertools/glamslam(Prince's old club in downtown) It hosted a lot of different acts such as Alien Sex Fiend, Christian Death, Speciman, Kommunity FK. Later years had 80s night, Goth night. I am almost positive Psi-com played here at some point but i donit recall. My cousin went to a private party thrown by Prince after the Purple Rain tour in 1985. Prince played for another 2 hrs and gave birth to his after concert jams. He said it was awesome, total eighties style.

It's very possible that Nick Maybury is recording stuff with Perry, maybe solo/SP stuff that needed a guitarist. About 2 weeks ago Perry was in the studio with Andy Bell. This gives me hope the solo/SP stuff will still see the light of day in one form or another. Perry's a talented man - i'm sure he can do more than one project at a time...
But i must admit i am pretty excited now by the Jane's reunion now that it is actually happening - even though i'm far away on the other side of the world and it would be years before i even saw them unless i travel Stateside...
As always with Perry, it's intriguing to see where he goes next...
