I don't think it is either
It is easy so try and spin it that way since once of the problems "back in the day" was the band became too much of a business rather than an outlet for their art. Or you can spin it as a little bit of both, the irresistible force is the art, the immovable object is the music biz?
It'd be interesting to hear the Perry share the headspace the lyrics came from

my next thought..
I think it will always be pure speculation when trying to figure out what lyrics mean.
unless the source explains them

I don't think Perry intend "we" as "the band".
On FB Perry explained the song it's about creation as a cosmic bang, an act of cosmic love making. "we've become a big business" maybe like "me and you became something very big, powerful, like a galaxy merger"
Evolution of Perry lyric: "god is dead" (Had A Dad, 1988) ------> "god is a dad" (Irresistible Force, 2011)

I noticed that also.
It would interesting if anyone could get Perry's meaning for those lyrics about big biz.
Thanks dude!
You just made me feel a lot better because I had to ask helicine via AIM today how to do it.
Go here: http://www.indabamusic.com/opportunitie ... pportunity
Click the tab in the near upper right hand corner that says "Enter Opportunity"
Fill out some bullshit on the window that pops up and submit it.
Watch your email for your code.
Take code back to sight and enter it.
Once you do that it will log you in and the tab that said "Enter Opportunity" will now say "Download" I think and the tracks below will be downloadable.
I hope that helps and don't feel bad I had several WTF moments trying to get it before I asked helicine.
Edit: I type to slow.
Glad you got it.
It is kind of a pain in the ass though isn't it.
