New Jane's Producer

Has anyone got any info on who it's going to be?

Just an added note,

I just watched that perry interview from Coachella and he said the album is going to be about 45 mins. thats pretty lean. Doesnt really leave much room for 'epic' songs like Then she did, Three days or Ted. But he didnt say it would be ALL 3 min tunes as well so who knows what he has planned.

Either way, its going to turn out better than what most humans are capable of so I look forward to hearing it.

I wouldn't stress out over the album's length, especially since they've yet to actually go in and record anything. I wouldn't expect all fifteen of the songs they've been working on to show up on the album. Keep this in mind:

Jane's Addiction - 10 songs @ 40min
Nothing's Shocking - 11 songs @ 45 min (inc. Pigs, otherwise it's 10 songs @ 41min)
Ritual de lo Habitual - 9 songs @ 51 min
Strays - 11 songs @ 48 min

So an estimate at 45min for this next album is right on par.

As for who is going to produce the album? I don't think there has been any mention of any names on this.

Yeah thats right, it might have 9 songs , some of which are longer than standard radio length. An interesting note, someone called up on last dark matter and asked Dave if they had someone to produce and he said yes.. but it may have been him acknowledging the question.. I have no idea. I just hope they have a record they WANT to make and not one to succeded in the marketplace. Thats where strays went wrong i think. They were themselves the first go around and ppl loved that. With strays they tried to meet modern listeners 'wants' for use of a better word.

They go into studio soon but no one know producer. Red Hot Chili Peppers record new album in July 2010. Rick Rubin is producer.

 I'm not sure I'd go that far. Sure we're way past the era of RHCP that connected w/ my - but I think they've still got something to say musically. Basically you like what you like

Yeah sorry, that was blunt... I dont share your appreciation for RHCP but thats ok. My reasons are basically John frusciante and his title of "Guitar God".. he is more 'stoned hack' than genius. I guess im annoyed by every 14 yr old newb guitar player watching his incoherent improv and thinking he is the new Hendrix. Johnny Marr.. there is a God... And of course "our kid" Dave.

 well, IMHO, Johnny Fru's best RHCP albums were both before Dave joined the band. Dave has more talent, and Hillel had more heart (and arguably talent). I think RHCP's commercial success has been their worst enemy. They're hardly the "socks-on-cocks" punk+funk band they used to be. Everyone needs to evolve, but they're just not the band that I grew up loving anymore. :noclue:

I fell in love with the Peppers again when I saw them headline Lolla a few years back.
An ex girlfriend had ruined them for me but I'm back to being a fan again.

As for whoever is going to produce Jane's new record, I dunno but I'll see if I can find out.

Many will consider this very good news, Ezrin isn't going to be producing the new album:
