I'm not a gear head Jimmy so unless I have a pedal in hand and can read the maker's name I can't tell one from another for the most part.
Dave tweeted the pic I posted on the front page and I think that may be the set up he's using for recording?

That's a 1976 Gibson Explorer Dave's playing in that pic on the front page btw. (Thanks Dan)
I did look at all the gear pics he posted yesterday and I wondered if all those goodies are his or if it's the gear he has at his disposal at the studio they're recording at?
Here's the gear pics Dave tweeted for those of you that missed them.

I have a few Boss, but they definately dont make the best of anything. they are all decent and usable though. I'm incredibly discerning when it comes to guitar sound. pedandtic even... But i have some Boss gear that I like using - delay, tremolo, Compression... I'd stay away from their overdrives/ distortions, chorus, flanger etc..
There's some info and advice you didnt ask for

you're welcome!

I have a ton of esoteric pedals..they're cool...I kinda like everything neat and uniform on my board..I love my boss super overdrive it'z basically a tube screamer...sounds great into my marshall jcm 2000...it all depends what amp im playing.I've got Mesa's ,Fenders.Peavey's, Crates....I dont use much pedal distortion..I have a ds -1 that I kick in for chunk or a solo but I never really liked that one so much..But I get what yer saying about boss...I have all these really weird very spendy $$ pedals that do one thing great..but they clutter up my board for live apz...I really love my line 6 echo I still use that along with a couple boss echo's..but like I said boss is easy for me to dial in and still sounds like me playing...Now for recording....I'd take the time and dial in whatever is the best I have laying around...Im trying to get my chops back up..I let it sit for a while and focused more on my voice for a bit..I missed it...I cant sing and play guitar at the same time...my brain doesnt work that way...Singing is more of a release..but I write on guitar....sorry guess I could of said this in pigz

Dave & Perry got me wondering what that swollen pickle sounds like?...might hafta go to guitar center and try that out...I've been in search of the sound Page got on Zeppelin I...I know he used a supro amp..which is a little amp and a tone bender and a tele...but try as I may and try as I might I cant quite get it...I get close...But no cigar...there is sumpthing about that sound on that album that gives me goose bumps everytime I play it...So tasty and vibe heavy..I dont even know how to put it?...I know he was big on distance makes depth with miking it...for the technology back then with recording it amazes me how he nailed it ...thats one tone... jest soaked in reverb and gritty ...and I have a few tunes in progress that would really come alive if I could ride that wave

im not so big on fuzz faces my playing doesnt match it...I have freinds and even my guitarist can make it shine...not me...need a great fuzz sound..any tips rockers out there?

Erik spanked me earlier today for not asking for the producers name.
It's hard to ask everything on the fly but in my defense it slipped right past me.
As far as Duff is concerned I think it's much ado about nothing.
I posted what I think in that other thread and I'm not worried about it.
