Satellite Party Debut Album - Let's talk about it

Post by Mike »

We all know it won't be to long before we can get our hands on this.
With Dogstar set to be the first single released next month.
From what I've read and heard these tracks are going to be on it:
Dogstar
Awesome
Milky Avenue
Revolution Solution
Woman In The Window
Ultra Payloaded Satellite Party
You Make My Hard Life Easy
Kinky
Celebrate
Vast Visitation Of Energy
What other tracks will make the disc?

One thing that never ceases to amaze me is Perry's ability to surround himself with great talent.
It seems to be the case yet again with this project.
I don't think anyone can argue this point with the likes of
Peter DiStefano - Porno For Pyros / solo artist
Flea and John Frusciante - Red Hot Chili Peppers
Peter Hook - New Order
Nuno Bettencourt - Extreme
Thievery Corporation
Hybrid
Jim Morrison - The Doors
Fergie - Black Eyed Peas
Kevin Figueiredo (Fig)
Etty Farrell
AJ Resta (Schizophonic) is doing programming and post-production work
Steve Lillywhite final mixing
Tony Kanal - No Doubt
Gabriele Corcos - percussion
Jack Irons, the Peppers' original drummer (and Pearl Jam's subsequent one)
Anthony J. Resta - producer/engineer
Did I forget anyone?

You can listen to samples of several of the tracks here:

Wasn't that chick he did the Doors song with on the SP record?
It was for that Doors tribute.
I forgot her name...

I'm too lazy to find it, but I thought they named a Jane's song that they wrote during Strays that Perry might use on SP. This was in some interview last year. I forget the name of the song though.

Her name is Exene but I haven't seen anything about her being involved with Satellite Party.

I've not heard anything about this.
If you can track that down I'd love to know more about it.

Unfortunately, with all the names on the record, it seems like a one-off project. Doesn't really seem like a steady gig to me.

i also think it is a one-off project. after he is finished with sp, he can find 3 other musicians and start a steady, new band with not so many guest appearances.
