Eminem Will 'Really Give A Show' At Lollapalooza, Perry Farrell Says
Festival founder also tells MTV News he expects 'blood, sweat, guts [and] hair' from Lolla first-timers the Foo Fighters.

By Matt Elias

In anticipation of this year's Lollapalooza announcement, many hoped Perry Farrell was planning something extra special to celebrate the festival's 20th anniversary. Farrell came through with a solid lineup, including Eminem, Foo Fighters, Coldplay, Muse, My Morning Jacket, deadmau5, A Perfect Circle, Cee Lo Green, Damian "Jr. Gong" Marley & Nas and the Cars.

No doubt Eminem will be the big draw this year in Chicago's Grant Park, and the festival founder has high hopes for the Detroit MC.

"He's always put together great productions for his shows, and this is something that we look for at Lollapalooza — not just to go out there and perform, but to really give a show," Farrell told MTV News.

Also on the bill is Eminem and Dr. Dre collaborator Skylar Grey. One might hope Eminem plans to invite her and Dre to perform "I Need a Doctor," along with some other high profile guests.

"I can't say for sure, because I'm not Eminem," Farrell told MTV News. "But I can tell you one thing: I'm going to put a call in right after this."

Not only will Eminem be making his first-ever Lollapalooza appearance, but, surprisingly, Foo Fighters have never played a Lolla before. Farrell is also expecting big things from the Foos — specifically "blood, sweat, guts [and] hair."

Adapting to the ever-growing popularity of dance music, Perry has something in store for those looking beyond rock and hip-hop.

"I'd say the biggest evolution, shall we say, in Grant Park this year is going to be the 'Perry's Area.' I kind of smile, because they have previously called it 'Perry's Lounge.' I don't know where they got this 'lounge' tag to it. It's the dance tent, and it will house 15,000 people. So 15,000 fist-pumping people in a lounge there to see people like Steve Angello and Joachim Garraud — that's a place you're going to want to hang out throughout the weekend."

Lollapalooza runs August 5-7 and tickets are available through Lollapalooza's website, where you can also view an interactive time capsule from Lolla's past 20 years.

I was just about to post that and as usual you beat me to it.

Not anyone I was really expecting but there are a few bands I'd really love to see.
Namely The Cars, Ween, Flogging Molly, and Eminem.

The complete line-up can be found here: http://lineup.lollapalooza.com/

hehe Mike!

im a lil surprised with the line up. I was thinking we'd see more bands from the first few Lolla's, with it being the 20th anniversary. I was thinking Jane's would be a headliner for sure so that was most surprising.
but id love to see Eminem and The Cars would be cool and A Perfect Circle too.

That article had amusing timing for me, because I was just checking out more of the Sleigh Bells after getting hooked on Rill Rill from listing to it on Alt Nation

Just wanted to post a couple quick news items in regard to this years Lolla.

First off Lollapalooza 2011 is completely SOLD OUT!
All three day passes and single day tickets are gone and that means a crowd of approximately 90,000 per day.

Secondly fear not if you weren't able to score tickets for the show as there are plans to stream the festival on youtube.
