Lollapalooza expands to São Paulo, Brazil

This past spring, Lollapalooza held a successful spin-off festival in Santiago, Chile, headlined by Kanye West and the Killers. In 2012, Lollapalooza will take it's brand of big-tent music festival to São Paolo, Brazil. The Chile edition will carry on, as well. If you read Portuguese, check out the details here. In English:

Lollapalooza Chile II goes down March 31 and April 1, at the Equestrian Club of Santiago.

And in Brazil, the festival takes over a pony track on April 7 and 8, at the Jockey Club de Sao Paulo.

Details of the expansion are expected to be delivered by Perry Farrell at a 10am press conference to kick off Lollapalooza 2011 in Grant Park. It will be a baby shower and a birthday party. In addition to ringing in a new festival, Farrell will be presented with an elaborate 20th birthday cake. Lollapalooza began in 1991 as a road show.
