Just doing some research online and came across this:
http://www.rockitsessions.com
I guess that you can hire Dave to play in the studio with you if you have enough money! And did I mention the rest of the rock stars that you can hire from these guys.... Kind of insane! I'd imagine that you'd have to be pretty good for Dave to want to rock out with you though.
I CAN POSSIBLY HIRE DAVE TO PLAY ON MY SONGS? HOLY SH&T!

Hey RAGDOLL, thanks for the link.
I think this is a pretty cool idea and a nice way for Dave and the other musicians involved to supplement their income.
It would be incredibly cool to have the opportunity to jam/record with Dave but me personally, I'd be way to embarrassed by my playing to ever do it.
Halfway ripping/cutting off two of your fretting fingers will do that to your playing though.
I have to think that getting one of these guys to play on your song would certainly aid in sales of said recording but the fact is most kids now-a-days would just illegally download it.
Which is the reason most of these guys are supplementing their incomes this way i suppose.
Still a very cool idea and I'd certainly like to hear anything Dave plays on as a result of this.

Yeah these definitely are different times as far as making a living as a musician goes (at any level). There are things like Rock and Roll fantasy Camp that seem pretty cool but it looks like rockitsessions.com is more of an exclusive thing. Plenty of bands are doing shows in Russia and places like Dubai for tons of dough. I'd imagine that this new company is looking for that type of (under the radar, rich) client. I'll shoot them an email and see what they charge for a guy like Dave to play on some regular Joe's tunes.

A friend of mine works in the info-mercial business and he receives lists of "celebrities" and their prices to appear in ads.
He's supposed to be getting me copies of his lists.

Cool EJS. I'd be interested to see what something like this costs. I play in a band and the thought of having a guy like Dave guest on a song is beyond amazing.ejs wrote:A friend of mine works in the info-mercial business and he receives lists of "celebrities" and their prices to appear in ads.
