I finally scored a copy of the Holly Word a.k.a. Hollyword cassette and it's still sealed :!:

While I've had Perry's Letters To Xiola in one form or another for years I've been on a mission for a long time to find a copy of this cassette only release.

I've only seen a few copies for sale in all the years I've been looking and to find one still in the shrink wrap after almost 22 years is amazing to me.

Since I already have Letters To Xiola transferred from a friend's copy of the tape i don't think I'm gonna open mine.

Have any of you recently scored anything cool or unusual for your Jane's / Jane's related collection?

I guess I've been lucky as of late but last night I scored another item I've been looking for for a longtime.

#26 of 1,000 should make it to my door a little later this week.
I've attempted to buy this limited edition disc in the past only to be disappointed when another promo disc arrived.
The only other copy I've ever seen for sale was purchased by a buddy of mine after I sent him the link for it.
I would have bought it myself had I known the copy I bought that same day was another promo.

hay mike. have you ever heard of this?

This is an original 1st pressing of Danzig's first album on CD.
It has a misprint, the booklet was misprinted across the top with Janes Addiction's NOTHING SHOCKING title

Hey drifter, I can't say that I have and matter of fact this is the first time I can remember seeing or hearing about it.
Over the years I've worked at a couple different shops on printing presses and I'm struggling to figure out how that could have happened.

Still it's a pretty cool oddity to have no matter how it came to be. :thumb:

I haven't heard of this myself, and my initial reaction was it had to be a fake since I thought the first Danzig album came out closer to 1990. But sure enough, both Danzig and Nothing's Shocking came out in August of '88, both by WB (well, Danzig was Def American / WBR). Aside from that, after a quick search, I couldn't find any references to it online.

It looks like it could be a miscut, where both album liners were printed on the same large sheet, and for some reason it got shifted. That resulted in the bottom of the NS album being stuck to the top of Danzig's album, and the bottom of that cut off. So in theory, there should not only be a matching back-cover, but possibly other variations with the same or different album covers. I would think that this type of thing can happen in a print shop, but would likely be caught beforehand and those prints destroyed before ever going out in circulation.

FWIW, here is the uncropped cover of that Danzig album.

That still doesn't make sense to me helicine.
Having worked for several years in a print shop and one that did album and CD art to boot, I know there would have been what's called a gutter in between the booklets and that's even if they would have printed them both off the same plate.

I dunno. :headscratch:

drifter, if you have this can you scan it with the booklet open so we can see the front and back?

yeah, I was just going for the most plausible scenario - a gutter between booklets makes sense to me
