The Cincy show was a huge disappointment. Same set list as Pitt except no Ain't No Right. Quite honestly, Perry played to the size/response of the crowd. This show paled in comparison to the 96 Porno tour. Honestly, historical trend or not, playing a dozen (or less) songs for 30 plus dollars with 7 cds isn't acceptable anymore. A live performer of his stature should never play 70 minutes as he did tonigh in Cincy. He owes the fan base more than that. He seemed to be running through the motions.

Hey Scooby, I split this off into a thread of it's own.
As for your comment that's a bummer that you were disappointed.
They really did a great show last night and had the crowd into it from the get go.
How many people were there tonight?
I know I'm preaching to the choir but you got to remember a 1 hour long show is the norm for every band Perry's been in except maybe Psi Com and those were probably less than a hour based on the few recordings that circulate.
Perry just going through the motions?
IMO I don't think there will ever be a day when we'll see that.
You of course are entitled to your opinion.
Again it sucks that you weren't happy because I thought last night was great and that the band were even tighter than they were when I saw them here in Cleveland last week.

I see what you are saying, but I have a shitload of bootlegs going back to 1986 (Jane's and Porno) and most have not been extremely long. However, it's quality not quality.Scooby7 wrote: A live performer of his stature should never play 70 minutes as he did tonigh in Cincy. He owes the fan base more than that. It seems they've been playing non-stop for the past few months and he is after all only human...I just know the level of energy at Lolla was incredible.

There were probably 200 people there (in a 1200 capacity club). I felt badly for him, but Cincy's an odd town when it comes to recognizing good music. Unless you are obvious and all over the media, Cincy doesn't seem to get it. Anyway, back to the show......I'm not saying the whole show was lame or anything, just that it's disappointing to see Ain't No Right on every set list, then mysteriously dropped last night. I just think he should be doing a solid 15 songs, which was what I saw with PFP. As far as going through the motions, he just seemed more energetic with PFP (maybe he's just older?!?) , and the between song banter was pretty cheesey. I remember being more taken by his intro's to songs and comments with PFP. Maybe I'm the odd one out on this, but I also didn't find the guitarist a good fit, although he did crack me up. He was low in the mix too often and didn't seem to tackle the finer details of songs. All in all, a fair show, but not where it could be. I'd love to see Perry move away from the "hits" and tackle some other songs. Even a cover of "Ripple" would've worked well. Here's hoping PFP gets back together after SP winds down.

I believe Perry's bands concerts are so incredibly full of energy, that they simply can't last too long....
Hey guys, I was a little worried after the big changes in the band, I'd like to know how is it going on stage: are they getting better and grawing fast? how do the new guitarist and drummer play?

Perry gives 100% every night out and goes for as long as he can.
As far as you questions I watched the Lolla webcast and they seemed a bit tentative.
Then I saw them in person on 8/8 and they were improved.
The show on 8/14 was better still.
So yes they're getting better / tighter as a group.
The new guitarist Nick is doing a great job.
When I saw them on the 14th he really nailed it.
The drummer Jordan is another fine addition to the band.
He didn't miss a beat the whole night until his kit suffered a mishap.
I think both are fitting in well and the band will continue to gel / improve.
Hope that answered your question and welcome to the site.
