Hi,
Does anyone have the song "HOPE" from Perry Farrell's Japanese import of 'Song Yet To Be Sung' album?
Can you send to me or upload to YouTube?
I can't find it anywhere!

Thanks!
Tom

The vision he did have on this one. In 2002 he say he and assistant Brenden Hawkins? have enough music pieces to make SYTBS #2 follow up. This never did happen :(

Perry Farrell : Song Yet To Be Sung

NME
Overall rating:

So, what grows in his garden in 2001? A thoroughly modern, almost Byronic, solo album that updates past excesses in the context of the present, and ignores Californian darkness in favour of a polished, summery outlook. Indeed, Farrell has gone global in a quest to extend the rock palette. Not by cannibalising world musics or working in a consciously ‘ethnic’ milieu, but by an embrace of electronica, techno, drum’n’bass and more.

Normally, this would be a rock star folly par excellence. But while his vampire croak of old is sometimes in evidence, here’s a new Farrell – one that fills ‘Nua Nua’ with beguiling Hawaiian melodies; strafes ‘Shekina’ with Eastern modal chords; and haunts the accusatory paean to identity-loss known as ‘Did You Forget’ with a processed vocal symphony.

At the root of all this lies a basic allegiance to Beach Boys harmonies and errant ’60s psychedelia as well. Which has the effect, especially on the drum’n’bass propelled rumble of ‘Happy Birthday Jubilee’, of rendering the whole as a shiny new surface where electronics have enhanced – replaced, even – the usual rhythm’n’noise.

To me, Perry soundz more youthful on SYTBS than on almost any recording he's done. An under-rated gem, in my opinion.

This the quote I find about Song Yet to be Sung part 2. I like to learn more about this 50 pieces of music he do with Brendan Hawkins.

from NZ Herald
Jan, 2003
Farrell hasn't abandoned solo work; the very suggestion sparks another burst of chortling.

"I have many pieces, almost 50, so as soon as we finish working on the Jane's album, my partner Brendan Hawkins and I are going to start doing a new solo album."
http://www.nzherald.co.nz/lifestyle/new ... id=3046996
from Slant Magazine
Tracks like “To Me” and “Say Something” invent a whole new brand of cyber-hippie with their mix of electro-pop and numinous lyrical content: “Cherubs turn away their blushing faces/Leaving us aroused and bare.” The dub-infused title track plays off the masterful guitar work of Jane’s Addiction cohort Dave Navarro with a subtle Middle Eastern vibe (“From the heights of Zion…We’ve got to play on, wild designery”), while “Seeds” is an uncomplicated ode to fertility (making babies never sounded so magical!). Had post-Indian-excursion Beatles been miraculously transported into a high-tech 21st-century recording studio, this is what their music might have sounded like.

from Song Yet To be Sung youtube
"It's a shame Perry didn't continue in this direction with his music. This was the closest he ever got to, what I feel, was the most organic & original music".

"Best solotrack of Perry Farrell ever. Everything comes together in this beautiful spiritual song. Great bass playing from Lonnie Marshall."

"God this is just Incredible"

"This song reaches into a part of my soul that I didn't even know existed. I just love the feeling that it evokes. A meaningful melody in a world of disposable pop. Thanks Perry Farrell."

"This song should be up there with Stairway...only a few of us know how amazing it is..."

"One of my favorite all times. I really wanted more from him. When I ran into him at KROQ Almost Acoustic backstage, I asked him about it. His face lit up, like it was one of his all time fave things he's done."

"what an awesome album!"

Thanks for the interview links, Hidefumi. I'm also a big fan of Song yet to be sung. Hardly the new album could have me more excited.

On the other hand, please could someone upload the song Hope again. I have dredged the network again and again and I am not able to find it. Many thanks.
