I'm new to this board, but I've been listening to Jane's for a quit some time now and been reading the site every now and then.

It wasn't up until recently that i started to think that i haven't ever seen a timeline for the single and music video releases by the band. Especially the beginnings and the whole Nothing's Shocking- era is quite confusing.

This is what i've come up so far:

- Jane Says (promo single, this charted on billboard at 11.5.1988, so the promo must have been distributed to radio stations etc. at least a couple of months earlier)
- Mountain Song (december 1988, when was the music video released?)
- Had A Dad (promo single 1988, maybe the joke contest form is referring to future release of The Shocking E.P.?, also in Cabinet of Curiosities, the music videos year is listed 1986, when was this released?)
- Standing in the Shower... Thinking (1988 promo single, distributed at music convention in NYC? when was this and was this somehow coincidental with Mountain Song- single, since the song was a b-side to that?)
- Ocean Size (music video, since this contains a footage recorded in dec 1990, was the video released in 1991?)

Can anyone put these in order by the release date?

Based on the promo ID numbers (or whatever you want to call them), the order would be:

Had A Dad (PRO-CD 3324)
Standing in the Shower (PRO-C 3340)
Jane Says (PRO-CD 3445)
Mountain Song

Mountain Song's music video was released on 12/12/88 I believe

Ocean Size video was definitely released after Ritual came out

I think both the Trip Away and Had A Dad videos were released post Ritual as well, but use old footage - but I could be wrong.

Nothing's Shocking- related releases
- Had A Dad (promo single)
- Standing In The Shower.. Thinking (promo single)
- Jane Says (promo single)
- Mountain Song (single)
- Ocean Size (music video)

and

Ritual De Lo Habitual- related releases
- Three Days (single)
- Stop (single)
- Been Caught Stealing (single)
- Ain't No Right (music video)
- Classic Girl (single)

Other stuff

- Ripple (promo single)

Three Days & Stop were released simultaneously - their promo IDs are 1 off. Also interesting is the BCS finger cuffs promo was +1 from the Stop promo. The standard promo didn't come out for a while afterward.

Not sure when the ANR music video came out. Footage is from the Palladium show, which is also where the footage for the Classic Girl video came from.
