xxx censorship?

I was just listening to the xxx live album and at about 3:08.. at "goddam radio" the volume on Perry's vocals goes down on the word "god". Which is weird because there's obvious profanity elsewhere on the album (ie, "i just wanna FUCK!" not to mention other "goddamn"s in "Whores") Can't believe I hadn't noticed that before. Anybody know the story?

sorry, i forgot to mention the song (duh): "Rock N Roll"
"everytime she put on that
goddamn radio there is nothing goin' down at all. not at all."
haha, goddamn radios seem to be a theme in Perry's work.

[yeah, i know it's a Velvet Underground cover, but I don't think the g.d. is in the original lyrics.]

I think it's just the way they slowed down the original roxy tapes (changing the pitch) plus the way Perry sing "god-dam" that gives that "fade" effect on the word....
XXX is a great album but the post-production wasn't that great IMO.
I like better the original live versions of the songs, and Slow divers and Suffer Some should have been included in the album tracklist.....

That does sound a little weird now that I'm listening for it.
It could be that Perry pulled the mic away from his mouth.
I dunno but I'll compare it to the boot I have.
If it's the same then that's probably what happened.
I don't think it was censorship considering this is how they advertised the album.

haha. yeah, it doesn't make much sense. I was thinking, since it's a cover song, maybe Lou Reed or whoever at the publishing company wouldn't let them alter the lyrics in a profane manner or something. That's the best I can think of.
