Anybody know if "Satellite Of Love" was ever played live?
Its a cool song and one of my favorites. The interplay between the guitar and bass is clever. I like it even better than the original recording (by The Velvet Underground).

I can't think of any instance of Porno ever doing Satellite Of Love live.
That doesn't nessacerilly mean that they didn't.
We have tapes of maybe half of their shows.
It could be they busted it out for a show we don't have a recording of.
Sorry I'm not able to help you more with this one.

Hey thats ok. Thanks. Maybe if it was played, someday it'll turn up on a P4P box set or something. I would imagine Stephen Perkins keeps an archive of P4P stuff too. I don't know if he does interviews often but it'd be cool to hear his answers to these types of questions. And about the Janes box set submissions.

If I recall correctly, Money Mark played keyboards on it. I think there was some business about him not wanting to be credited because he wasn't happy with the result.

Porno for pyros will sing "satellite of love" which is somewhat redeemable. The second porno for pyros album about Tahiti from 1996 was actually pretty good. It Has a laid-back california soft-rock vibe to it tinged with surfing on heroin. The aforementioned Porno for Pyros cover of satellite of love is loungey but spacey and involves piano tinkling and post martin denny dub echo effects. Very pretty
