I thought Jack played on HArd Life Easy...
Nightbloom is lame imo and I hope that's not the directions he'll be going in for the future.

It worried me a little reading that interview with Etty saying that Nightbloom fits with the new songs. I was expecting to hear something cool with a title like that. Sadly I was wrong.

Me too i like Nightbloom!
The SP 2005 samples without Nuno were better than the final songs on the album.
Dogstar is a great song but the remix for Hybrid is even better.
If the next album will be more electronic i'll be happy.

I have to disagree with you there. The Satellite Party songs became more much fluid and organic in their live presentations than either the sterile synthetic demo versions or the overproduced cd versions. Hearing them presented live I could hear how well they fit in next to the classic Janes and Porno For Pyros material. I like some electronic music but Nightbloom definitely did not excite.
What some bands do who have a love for dance music is to first make a rock record. After that they then take the same basic tracks from that record and remix them for dance clubs or have other scene producers do the remix and release this product separately. They can strip it down, add in all synthetic drum loops, keyboard arpeggiations and dj vocal efx and tempo changes to make the transformation.
This way both audiences(rock and dance fans) can be pleased

SP played tight live cause were a solid band. Bass drums guitar & Perry:r'nr every night.
But the album (demo or final version) lacks of unity cause each song is a different session with very different players and producers.
...Joy Division, Flea, Thievery Corp, Frusciante, Fergie, Rare Earth, Hybrid, Jim Morrison, Nuno Bettencourt, Bee Gees.....
Now it's just Carl,Perry and Etty and I think electronic (downtempo, dance, d'n'b) can blend all this different Perry's tastes and ideas better, like he did with SYTBS.

Hey I'm just glad to get some type of discussion going. It seems a good many on this board are either asleep or like to remain lurkers.
