No, not at all. We all have lots of stuff going on. Perry has DJ gigs, Satellite Party, Lolla... Eric has his new album, "Help Wanted", Perk has Hellride and Banyan...
Nothing has had to be put on hold for anyone but as for personal priorities... Jane's related gatherings are at the top of my list.

Well as a longtime fan I can only say I wish they'd never broken up to begin with.
Except for the fact that we'd never have had Porno For Pyros.
There certainly have been some hints that something is afoot.
I guess for the time being we'll have to wait and see.
My fingers are crossed.

how do i talk about it all? how do i mention speculating without creating, at the very least, some wild speculation over the coming months. am i considering something with the boys of janes addiction? yes. do i think something of a deserving quality is possible? not as convinced. not yet at least. do i know what it would look like? i have absolutely no idea. would we play a few live shows? would we try to write something? i havent even spoken yet to dave, let alone any other band members, about any of this. but what has changed is that i am considering it all. and not only that, it feels good to consider it.
the other night at the nme was good fun. it felt pretty positive all around. i enjoyed playing those old bass lines (some of which i hadnt even privately played in sixteen or seventeen years). it was a pretty complete pleasure to do on a personal level. i was left with some concerns though musically. our ability as a foursome to focus, to challenge ourselves concerns me. can we bring the urgency to the songs that made them so dynamic in the first place? i dont know. how do we best do that? i am thinking about it. if i can become convinced that we can do that then i am open to trying. but until that point, i can only speculate. it is only the very beginning of a glimmer of a start to this process. it is an idea that could die on the vine, which is precisely why it has taken me this long to post anything, but it is also an idea that is pretty pregnant with possibility. that feeling of possibility in itself is a sea change for me. we will just have to see.

I find it funny that even members of the band are speculating about what will happen.
At the same time I'm happy as a pig in mud at the thought.
It's time to bust this out again.

well I think at this point,it's just GOTTA happen!!!!
Its like you cant get a kid all excited to go somewhere or get a new dog then never do it.
Theres good hints all around that it will happen but I do agree with eric that at anytime,the Idea could also die on the vine. if they give it too much time then it wont happen.Do it now before you change your minds PLEASE XOXOXOXOX

I posted this at ja.org, figured I would post it here also:
It seems to me that Eric is pretty willing to try somthing with the band, which is HUGE. I dont understand why they arent talking with him. It's been a month since the NME awards, and im kinda suprised that dave hasnt talked with him. I hope the lack of communication between the guys doesnt fizzle this thing out. Lets remember what happend the last time their was a lack of communication.

I'd be very happy to see Eric try something with the band.
However, I'd rather it be something completely new, and not called Jane's Addiction.
If you go through all of the Perry/Jane's performances since the turn of the century, Perry's heart is not in those songs. He seems to enjoy them, but it seems more a tribute than an immersion. Perhaps it's a change in approach due to vocal limitations.. Perhaps it's a change due to spiritual transformations.. Regardless, it's a change.. and that's not a bad thing.
I think Perry would fit in NICELY in the tone of some of the things on Help Wanted. All four have great talents that make something really special when combined.
But they've all changed as people as well, as players, and frankly, why not reflect that in the music?
Bring on the new approach, attitude, and songs.
I can't wait.

I say do a tour (Very soon) with the Original songs,then while on the road and after the tour work on new songs and a New record then tour again!!

I understand your point, hydro but I think the best is probably to enter the studio first, and bring something new and exiting they would be happy to tour with
if they tour first, they may loose their energy doing the same old songs again and again
who wants to hear a '90 set ? euh... me ? maybe but that doesn't make sense
