It seems to me that Eric is the one who is actually intrested in wanting to try to do "somthing" with Janes but, dave are not talking about it...perry is mum about it. I find it odd, that after all this time Eric is the one blogging about the no news on the janes front.

Are perry and dave just not into doing "somthing" with eric involved? Are they in a way punishing him for waiting so long to actaully wanting to do "somthing"?

Its been almost two months sence the NME awards gig, and NO news. What gives?

I think Perry is not so excited at the idea of another Jane's reunion.

He prefers to stay near Etty and sorround himself with musicians who really share his point of view: Dave Navarro and Stephen Perkins are not in his wish list.

They played together the first time after 17 years, was a pivotal moment for Jane's future: i suppose the are still personal issues between them so the magic chemistry of the past simply don't exist anymore.

From the horse's mouth
You know we didn’t have an easy time of it. We went definitely, definitely in different directions. During the Jane’s days he got… he had a very different outlook on life. He had a tough time of it for a while and came out of it and just decided to go the clean and sober route. You got to wish him well and let him do his thing.

I always thought that we should continue to play together for a time but I gave up

There's been a long time since JA broke up and several reunion attempts later, the ones who catched all the trains may be tired of it, what is obviously not the case for Eric.

Unfortunately, his interest in JA comes quite a long time after the battle.
Eric should have done this in '97, for sure.
And it was still possible in the '01-'03 era
But now....

Who cares about Jane's Addiction anymore ?

A bunch of 30 to 40 years old members of the 2 fans forums we are posting on...
Let's say 50 people ?

They kind of buried JA when they gave it an Award for its whole career !

so i guess that means when they make a new cd, you won't really be interested in listening?
i still think the Porno For Pyros "III" is what Perry ought to be putting his time and effort into right away. At least get it out there for the world to hear, stop sitting on it waiting for a sign from God. Record it in a pro studio before your old and gray and can't hit the high notes anymore. At least for posterity sake. Common Perry Common Pete listen to your fans

I sure will, shroomy, I sure will... 'coz I'm part of the 50 people that cannot get clean of it ;o)

And I feel I'm the old man that bother the young men with his oldies (but goodies, you should have been there back in the days....), a kind of old beatnick trying to sell his revolution to punk rockers...

Mankind has already been to the moon, people do not look at it with he same stars in the eyes anymore.

I'm waiting for BRAND NEW STUFF and I wish the 4th JA studio record could exist and be a groundbreaking f****g huge moment of R'n'R !!!

But come on, it's fairy tales for adults

We may be only 50-100 in number on the web but we speak for those who do not. We keep the spirit alive. We spread the word and take it to the streets. We bring our friends to your shows. We educate the younger crowd and lure them in by networking. We have been patient up until this point. Please don't turn your backs on the people who support you and enabled you to rise to your present position. Where would you be without us, the hardcore freaks? If you want to keep doing disco, fine with me but give us some rock and roll too, give us the alternative punk rock we have been craving since 1993 Porno For Pyros. That stuff never goes out of style and ages very slowly.

Hey, in all fairness, we have no idea what anyone is thinking on the Jane's front. Eric saying "no new news" could well mean that he's made no kind of decision either way.

Give some credit to Dave; he has said Jane's-related gatherings are at the top of his list. Dave used persistent humor to nudge Eric out of his cocoon and play the NME show. Dave's said explicitly that he'd like to get together with Jane's and play, and without the bullshit of record companies and and all that shit.

Perk has stated clearly that he'd like to do a project with Perry this year.

Perry expressed how he'd "wanted to feel like this for a long time" (I'm paraphrasing here) with regards to playing with the real Jane's. He also recently said how playing the NME event left him with a big smile on his face.

It's silly to make all sorts of assumptions about what these individual guys are thinking. For all we know they may just be giving Eric his space, knowing full well that pressuring Eric could result in him retreating back to his cave.
