Re: Porno For Pyros concert history info
It simply means that the show has a known recording circulating - I believe that show in particular is fairly common, so hopefully someone can post it for you.

Re: Porno For Pyros concert history info
ebay is a wonderful thing!
I already had a copy of the following press release but it was missing the tour dates page for June 12th - July 13th.
So for $.69 I took the plunge and was able to confirm seven shows but it begs the question, what were Perry, Pete, Stephen, and Mike up to on June 22nd?
We currently have no show or appearance listed for this date.

Re: Porno For Pyros concert history info
One of these days I'm gonna do something as far as a Porno For Pyros section here in the Chip Away area.
In the meantime this is as good a place as any to put this info as a reminder to update the line-up info.
We've been working hard to get line-up info squared away for every Jane's related band but helicine and I were chatting on AIM yesterday about Porno For Pyros and when exactly did Martyn leave and Watt step in etc.
Anyway I had one of those rare instances of a good idea and decided to ask Martyn via twitter and he responded!
Martyn said his last show was at Big Bear and we have two listing for PFP @ Big Bear.
March 15, 1995 - Snow Summit, Big Bear Lake, CA
http://janesaddiction.org/tour/show/por ... 03-15/461/
August 24, 1996 - Snow Summit, Big Bear Lake, CA
http://janesaddiction.org/tour/show/por ... 08-24/505/
Martyn's last show has to be the March 15, 1995 show however because we have proof of Watt playing bass at the August 24, 1996 Big Bear show in the form of the ENIT Tour itinerary.
I'm not going to do any updating on this right now because if I do it I have to do one show at a time.
If I wait until helicine sees this he can update the line-up info in batches and save a lot of time!

@martynlenoble do you by chance remember which show was your last with Porno For Pyros?
So based on Martyn's info we can pretty much clear up any and all line-up mysteries in regard to PFP.@Mike_at_JA_org Yes,the last show was at Big Bear mountain.Although we reunited 2 more times. Tibetan Freedom Concert in NY and Perry's bday

Re: Porno For Pyros concert history info
Yeah, Watt was in by late '95 through all of '96, so Martyn's initial last show has got to be 3/15/95.
One reunion show I think Martyn forgot was the day after the Tibet Freedom Concert..
06/08/97 Boston, MA, Great Woods (WBCN's River Rave)
..Pretty sure he played that one too.
Most '97 shows were "acoustic", stripped down with no bassist.

We already had Watt on bass for most of '96 but there were a lot of dates to correct.
I'm not 100% sure what's up with this date though.
May 19, 1996 - Los Angeles, CA
http://janesaddiction.org/tour/show/por ... 05-19/482/
The show info reads as follows:
But somebody had Perry listed in the line-up after saying he was sick?Modern Rock Live radio appearance to promote Good God's Urge. Perry was sick and didn't make the show. Pete and Steve did the show and played an acoustic instrumental version of the song Good God's Urge.
I took Perry out and left it with just Perk and Pete.
Watt wasn't listed but was he there?
I have no idea because I've never heard it.

Re: Porno For Pyros concert history info
No Watt for that radio appearance. Here's the info I've got in my bootlist:
5/19/96 Los Angeles, CA, Modern Rock Live radio appearance
32:25
dj intro
Tahitian Moon (album version)
interview
Good God's Urge (live acoustic instrumental version)
interview
100 Ways (album version)
interview
Notes: Perry was sick, so this interview is only Steve and Pete. Kind of awkward interview. They were in Los Angeles, but it's broadcast on WHFS out of the Washington, DC area.

Based on what you're saying I have a feeling it's going to be difficult to get 1997 100% correct.intertwoven wrote:Yeah, Watt was in by late '95 through all of '96, so Martyn's initial last show has got to be 3/15/95.

I know you're a wealth of information and if you want to take a stab at the '97 dates I'd be glad to have you do it.
If I do it it'll be guess work more or less and would much rather not go that route.

Re: Porno For Pyros concert history info
I can give it a shot. There may be a show or two I'm clueless about, but otherwise I've got a decent idea of the lineups. 1996-1997 was probably the height of my Perry fandom, so I kept pretty good tabs on the band back then.Mike wrote:Based on what you're saying I have a feeling it's going to be difficult to get 1997 100% correct.intertwoven wrote:Yeah, Watt was in by late '95 through all of '96, so Martyn's initial last show has got to be 3/15/95.

Also, I think Leo Chelyapov should be added to the site's P4P "roster". He played clarinet with the band for many shows during 96-98.
edit: for that matter, Thomas Johnson should probably be added too.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thomas_Joh ... roducer%29
hmm.. interesting.Johnson's involvement with Porno For Pyros (Porno For Pyros) began during the recording of their second album, Good Gods Urge, on which Johnson engineered, co-produced, and played.[3] Following the album's release, Johnson toured with Porno For Pyros from 1995 until the spring of 1997, providing samples, playing keyboards, and singing backing vocals. During this time Johnson also recorded new tracks for what should have been Porno For Pyros's third album, which were instead released on Perry Farrell’s solo effort “Song Yet To Be Sung” and Jane’s Addiction’s "Kettle Whistle".[4]
