Thanks everyone.
I had a really unbelievable time.
I mean if you would have told me what went down last night was going to happen before I went to the show last night I would have told you you were crazy.
I was treated like a King by everyone last night and would like to thank the Farrell's, Carl, Nick, and Jordan again for showing me such a good time.
I'm still working on a proper review and I need to get the tour bus video posted at some point

Thanks again everyone for all the nice sentiment.
It's really touching and I'm just lucky to have some really cool friends.
Here's my review of the show.
I'm still working on writing about the after show fun and will post about that latter this weekend
I'm really sorry it has taken me so long but I struggle to put my thoughts into writing.
Satellite Party – August 8, 2007 - House of Blues, Cleveland, Ohio
Review by Mike
Yesterday started off really well and ended even better.
In between were some ups, downs, and marvelous highs.
First of which was the OK to head down to the show early to catch the sound check.
My best friend of twenty plus years was supposed to go to the show with me.
I was chomping at the bit to let him know we were going to go to the sound check.
He's gone with me to every show Perry has done in the Cleveland area since 1988.
When he got home from work I called to tell him the good news.
It turns out he had some news of his own.
Earlier in the day while at work he fell off a platform and busted his ankle.
He told me he wasn't going to be able to make it to the show.
I told him to quit being a pussy and to get ready to go.
After all I told him, hadn't Perry performed for us on a busted ankle?
He told me to fuck off and have a good time.
Determined not to let my friend’s absence ruin my evening I headed out the door.
Circumstance beyond my control kept me from getting to the venue in time for the sound check.
Once at the House of Blues I headed over to the ticket office.
Etty had offered free passes for the show and I needed to pick up mine.
Due to some kind of mix up I wasn't on the list.
I told the ticket person "no worries I'll pay for the ticket".
I was being very cordial and as I've found in life it paid off.
Said ticket person told me to give her a few minutes and she'd get things sorted.
Within five minutes I had my ticket in hand and made my way in.
Although I came to the show stag I certainly wasn't alone.
I'm not sure what it is but there's a feeling of kinship at Perry's parties.
Tonight was no different and I was quickly making new friends.
Some of these new friends were old acquaintances via this and other message boards.
I was happy to meet everyone and it's always fun to put a face behind a name.
I think all of us were excited to see what the night would reveal.
Things kicked off at 8:00 sharp with supporting band Mink hitting the stage.
I'd not heard of these guys prior to the announcement that they would be opening.
That doesn't mean I'd never heard them before though.
They have a catchy tune called "Talk To Me" that's getting radio play here.
I've heard it at least a dozen times not realizing who it was.
If I remember right they played it second or third in their set.
I'm not really familiar with their music but one track really caught my ear.
It's called Dematerialize and for my money it was the highlight of their show.
The band consists of Neal Carlson – Vocals, Stella Mozgawa – Drums, David Lowy - Rhythm Guitar, Nick Maybury - Lead Guitar, and Grant Fitzpatrick – Bass.
They really seem to enjoy playing together and were definitely into it.
It’s refreshing to see a band with the kind of energy they showed.
So often these days a band will just go through the motions.
None of that from these guys and gal though.
Throughout their set I found myself focusing on drummer Stella.
Not only is she very easy on the eyes but she flat out rocks.
After their set a few of us were talking and they were impressed as well.
I feel bad for all the people that arrived late and missed them.
Anyone heading to one of the upcoming shows should get there on time to see them.
Between Mink and Satellite Party’s sets I spent time chatting with several people.
Topics ranged from what Jane’s songs will Satellite Party do tonight, to what’s your favorite track from Ultra Payloaded?
It never surprises me how much people love Perry and its fun to hear how he’s affected them in some way.
I decided it was time to get some liquid refreshment. (Read beer)
When I headed over to the bar I was happily surprised to find they had some local brew.
Even more so when I saw they had Commodore Perry’s Pale Ale.
I thought it was some kind of sign and grabbed one and headed back to my spot.
I’d scoped out a spot in front of the sound desk for optimal viewing listening pleasure.
With my thirst quenched I waited anxiously for Satellite Party to come out.
Then it happened, the curtain opened and the band burst into “Ain’t No Right”.
I consider myself a huge Jane’s fan and it was fun to hear this to start things off.
Perry was dressed in all white except for his fingerless gloves and matching scarf.
He had on a belt that would’ve made Elvis proud.
“Ain’t No Right” is done by and large as it was during the Jane’s Addiction days.
Only new guitarist Nick Perry makes the solo his own.
The rhythm section of Carl Restivo and newcomer Jordan Plosky (drums) had the floor of the House of Blues shaking.
That’s quite an accomplishment considering it’s concrete.
I think starting off the show this way with a crowd favorite is brilliant.
You immediately get that feeling like when you put on your favorite jeans.
Next up is “Kinky” which Perry expertly introduces while talking to a couple.
“Is she Kinky? Is she very, very Kinky? Yeah! Let’s give one to her!”
It’s one of my favorites from the Ultra Payloaded release.
The visuals that run through my mind during it are to dirty to share here.
I think this is one of the steamiest songs to come along in quite some time.
Isn’t that what R&R is all about? Sex and Drugs and R&R
Another new track follows “Insanity Rains”.
This one keeps the crowd going and I have a hard time standing still.
It’s complete with the little reggae break.
Perry dances and jumps around so much his vocal pack is shaken loose.
He has to take a break to get it hooked back up.
A unwary stage hand comes to his aid.
I’m not sure he knew what he was getting into!
The quick break gives everyone a minute to catch their breath.
One kind loving fan decided it was an opportunity to give Perry a beer.
He’s referred to as the Guinness Man for the rest of the evening.
“Hard Life Easy” is next and the band really nails this one.
Guitarist Nick Perri is on fire for this one.
I think to myself “Nuno who”?
Not in a disrespectful way or anything.
It’s just that Nick’s playing here really stands out.
I’ve thought for years that Perry has always surrounded himself with talent.
It looks like he’s done it again with this ax slinger.
Perry goes back to the Jane’s catalog for the next number “Been Caught Stealing”.
If I close my eyes for a quick second my mind drifts to one of the Jane’s shows I’ve seen.
I can’t help but dance around with the other happy revelers.
Carl drives this song and his floor shaking bass helps my feet find a happy groove.
Etty is dancing around during this one and it reminds me how cool the Lolla Girls were.
At the end of the song one unwary fan has his camera stolen by Perry.
Of course Perry was just messing around and they got it back.
It was excellent hi-jinx and the crowd roared with approval.
It’s back to the Ultra Payloaded disc for the next number.
The first single from it “Wish Upon A Dog Star”.
If you know the lyrics for this song it’s really deep and meaningful.
Most of the crowd didn’t care, they just wanted to dance and have fun.
Which is exactly what they did and who could blame them?
Perry reaches back into his pocket for another blast from our past.
Porno For Pyros “Pets” turns into a sing-a-long with everyone joining in.
“We’ll make great pets, we’ll make great pets”.
During it I see a cloud of smoke rise from up front and a sweet smell hits my nose.
In true love thy neighbor fashion these party goers share with Perry.
When the song ends I’m dumbfounded as Perry asks “Hey is Mike in the house?”
At first I thought he was having trouble with his mike but no he was looking for me!
Carl spots me and says to Perry as he points me out “I see him.”
Etty says “Stick around man we want to talk to you”.
Perry says “That’s my pal Mike. I’m glad you made it”
I get a warm feeling and think of my friend at home with a busted ankle.
If I wasn’t recording the show he’d never believe me, I’m there and I can’t believe it.
I instantly make 300 new friends!
About this time unfortunately security has to get involved.
They’d seen and smelled the smoke and decided to make an example out of someone.
I see them pull my two new friends from the crowd.
They’re coming right towards me.
In a quick thinking masterstroke my friend hands me what’s left of the sweet smelling problem.
I’m bummed, standing there helpless as they are forcibly removed from the venue.
I’ll get back to this story a bit latter.
Perry had heard someone shout “Mountain Song” during the lull and it’s what comes next.
This was another of those blissful moments that the show was filled with.
The crowd is ever so happy and lets out a huge cheer as the band rips into it.
I think it was during this song that I realized what a good drummer Jordan Plosky is.
He stayed true to the song and did an outstanding job.
Carl’s bass is again very pronounced and the floor is still rumbling.
I know I’ve mentioned that before but damn it’s a concrete pad!
I was dancing around in place ala Perry in the video until my old legs gave out.
Sometimes it sucks to get old.
Last up before the encores is “Ultra – Payloaded Satellite Party”.
This is another number from the new release that I really like.
Live it gives the band a chance to stretch out and I like how it changes gears.
I think during this one Etty really gets a chance to shine.
Sure she’s a world class dancer and most certainly eye candy but the fact is that she has a Heavenly voice.
Often during the show she doubles Perry’s voice but here she really stuck out on her own.
As the last notes ring out I’m confident the band is going to come out for an encore.
After a wait of two minutes that seemed more like two hours the band re-emerges.
They start playing and I don’t immediately recognize the song.
It seems they’ve worked out a cool intro to “Only Love, Let’s Celebrate”.
The intro lasts for over a minute and then suddenly I recognize it.
I like the way this builds into the song and then it just explodes!
Next up is another crowd favorite “Stop!”.
Perry introduces it saying “Although Heaven is an eternity, down on Earth we do have time restrictions and of course it is time for us to stop”.
With that said the band launches into “Stop!”.
It’s greeted with wild applause and the place goes nuts.
They don’t play it exactly as it was played in the Jane’s days instead they make it their own.
I mean it’s still the same song they’re playing but they do it their way.
I know some folks would rather Perry stick to the Satellite Party catalog but I must say as with the previous Jane’s songs of the night “Stop!” is much appreciated by the crowd.
Once completed the band link up at the front of the stage to take a bow.
Thinking they were done I stop recording so I can snap a couple pictures.
Boy was I wrong!
With the crowd going ape shit for several minutes the band is led out again by Perry.
Perry says “I’m only doing this cause of Mike. Mike. Everybody meet Mike”.
At which time the crowd starts chanting Mike, Mike, Mike.
Perry says “Handsome Mike” and the crowd start chanting that!
I’m having an out of body experience at this point and must be turning a deep shade of red.
I still can’t believe what has just happened.
Perry thanks the crowd and asks if they are ready to time travel.
Then the band starts into “Jane Says”.
Amazingly today is the lovely Jane Bainter’s Birthday.
Happy Birthday Jane!
Everyone sings along just as they did in days gone by.
Just like that the show is over.
The night however is really just getting started!
It's really touching and I'm just lucky to have some really cool friends.
Here's my review of the show.
I'm still working on writing about the after show fun and will post about that latter this weekend
