This is the story I was talking about in my previous post.
Peter Gabriel and Jane's Addiction to Star in "Guitar Center Sessions"

It's a new DirectTV series
Peter Gabriel and Jane's Addiction to Star in "Guitar Center Sessions"
Retail-meets-TV when Peter Gabriel and Jane's Addiction serve as the inaugural guests on a new DirectTV show called Guitar Center Sessions. The show's format is one of musicians performing and answering audience questions. Like Inside the Actor's Studio, only for musicians and without the douchebag host?
Gabriel's episode premieres on August 21 at 9 PM and the Jane's Addiction episode follows in September. More guests are to be announced for the Guitar Center Sessions.
Will you watch this series? What musicians would you like to see perform and answer probing questions on Guitar Center Sessions?
Sorry there's no channel or air date info but I think we've gone through this previously in this thread.
Anyway once I figure out when it's airing I'm going to find someplace to watch it.

The reason I mentioned the Gabriel session on channel 101, which is the DirecTV promo channel, is that it was available as a regular feed in 2-D High Def. I don't have a 3D set and this airing was not a 3D version. This gives me hope that the Jane's one might also be available in a non-3D format (though I would like to see that and just don't have the equipment). I read another article that said the 3-D version airs on a new 3-D channel, DirecTV 103. Fingers crossed for both airings.
If you look at the description on youtube it says:
An exclusive clip of Jane's Addiction's performance of "Jane Says" from Guitar Center Sessions on DIRECTV. See an all new episode on September 25th at 9pm ET/PT on DIRECTV channel 101 and in 3D on DIRECTV channel n|3D. Get a free MP3 download of this song by visiting www.guitarcenter.com/sessions
I checked the link and the Jane Says mp3 doesn't seem to have been posted just yet.
Keep an eye out I guess.
Man I hope they didn't cut City.

I hope someone manages to get the HD version out to the masses. I was one step away from switching to DirecTV, but AT&T doesn't provide reasonable speed broadband to my new place... so I'm going to have to stick with Comcast

It would be SOOOO bad ASS to see them do City!!!!!
City please!!!!
If they cut City it will be a criminal offense.
I guess we'll know one way or the other in about a week's time but here's hoping City made it through the editing room.
I'm looking forward to the whole thing but City and the new tune Broken People will be highlights I'm sure.
Hurry up 25th!
