man, that just sucks... resoundingly so. i allowed myself to get excited when eric said he was doing the aussie gigs, and now they're writing w/ someone else before them? bizarre, but i guess that's just someone's version of normal.

glad i got to see the show last summer... i just can't accept janes without eric. it never felt right before, and it doesn't feel right now.

i have been a lurker here for many years, but sort of fell away recently with computer trouble, so i feel like i must have missed something... i've tried to catch up, but i feel a little out of it. can someone break this down for me like i'm a 5 year old?

1) no shows w/ eric or official announcements since summer, right?

2) new year's eve gig with cheney for big $$$?

3) eric IS touring australia with them...

4) but they started writing sessions with someone new last week?

They played a few shows in the fall..Halloween in New Orleans (I went!) and a show or 2 in Brazil..Eric was There..He turned down New YearsEve in Aspen..not sure why..Eric said he's playing the Aussie shows but not writing with Janes..Again, not sure why...Perry said he Dave and Perk are writing Janes stuff with another writing partner...That about sums it up! 09 was great..I agree it aint Janes without Eric..But I also flew across the country to see a Satellite Party show b/c they were playing a bunch of Janes songs! So as long as it's someone other than Chris Cheney on the bass, I'll still check it out. It was great while it lasted though.

If Eric Avery keep touring but don't write new music with them I can still be happy. If he do not tour when Australia finish and he do not write music then I give up. Why they cannot keep the same bass guy position it revolves all the time? I do not like this.

Jane's Addiction..Eric Avery>Flea>Martyn LeNoble>Chris Chaney>new person
Porno For Pyros..Martyn LeNoble>Michael Watt
Satellite Party..Tony Kanal>Carl Restivo

Sean Yseult is hot sexy bass girl. I love her punk style. She play in White Zombie. If Eric gone I like to see her in Jane's Addiction.

I feel like I'm going through the five stages of grieving. :(

None-the-less many thanks go out to the guys for giving it another go.

If you'd have told me in 1991 that I'd see these four cats together again a half dozen times in 2009 I'd have thought you were high, crazy, or both.
