Times are tough for folks right now and it's hard to plunk down that kind of $.
If I had the money I'd do it but I'd want to see the contents of the book first.

This could be a good investment for somebody though.

Books of this type are usually very popular with fans of the bands they're about.

Take Mark Lewisohn's "The Complete Beatles Recording Sessions" for example.
I know Jane's doesn't have the fan base of The Beatles but humor me.

Used copies of his book sell for hundreds of dollars and are considered The Bible by Beatles fans.
Depending on this book's contents we may have a Bible of our own.

I'm not 100% if this has anything to do with this book but it's the only Jane's book I know of coming out this fall.

Unsigned Rock/Metal Acts Wanted - Jane's Addiction Book Bonus Sampler (Anywhere)

U.S.-based, Nationally-distributed Music Book Publisher is seeking bands- unsigned or otherwise- who grew up on and were musically influenced by legendary alternative rock band the Jane's Addiction for inclusion on a Bonus Music Sampler that will be included with a book on Jane's Addiction being released in the fall of 2010. This is NOT a Tribute compilation, so in other words, we are not seeking COVERS of Jane's tunes, but rather are featuring ORIGINAL ROCK/METAL bands on the sampler who sound derivatively alike or similar to Jane's Addiction's sound in some manner (be it songwriting, vocal range, riffs, etc) performing an ORIGINAL song on the compilation. The sampler will be sold with each copy of the book, and each participating band will receive promos, as well as mention in all press materials, and the opportunity to be part of this book.
