Thanks Erik, I am curious to know what makes Broken People sound less like strays and more like the early vintage Jane's.

I guess I'd say its darker subject matter and as Erik previously posted its artsy sound and feel.leviticus wrote:Thanks Erik, I am curious to know what makes Broken People sound less like strays and more like the early vintage Jane's.
Hopefully the Direct TV broadcast will be soon and you'll be able to decide for yourself.
It was a lot different acoustic vs electric though and each way benefited the song differently.
I like it.

Yeah, it is both - lyrically and musically. Plus the two times we heard it were in more raw format, giving it that "rough around the edges" sound that was really missing from Strays.

I just read your post and what you said about Strays is almost word for word what my buddy said about it today.helicine wrote:Yeah, it is both - lyrically and musically. I played my Danish promo for him while he was here today and he was blown away.
Matter of fact he popped it in his laptop and burned himself a copy to take home with him.
Sorry to change the subject but I just had to post that.

I guess if anyone has any questions pertaining to the show that aren't answered in the review that I can answer them now or at least try.
Sorry to have been kind of vague up to now but we'd decided to put it all in the review first.

Acoustic and Electric, Broken People.
