Jane's Addiction songs that became Porno for Pyros songs...

Post by NiGHTS »

I can't remember what they are...

Sonny mentioned 100 ways? Is that true? Cus that IS mental.

Also, did any become Deconstruction songs? Spread songs? Dave or Perry solo songs? Satellite Party? Panic Channel?

The Deconstruction song Iris was a Jane's tune.
I think it was originally titled Coffee In San Francisco.

packin' .25 was a jam jane's addiction played...

100 ways was a song during the jane's days...

blood rag, as mentioned.

bad shit, dave plays that riff in between songs during 2/26/89 NJ show.

i've even heard "hard charger" was a jane's addiction left over.

dave has said, a few of the songs on porno for pyros first record were songs jane's addiction had played with first. now he could've been talking about the two mentioned here, but he only mentions packin' .25 from what i remember.

and i think casey has said 100 ways was a song about her, and considering perry and casey split ways early '92, it could only have been a song from those jane's addiction days.

Pete D claimed Perry came up with Hardcharger on his own I think around the time it came out, and it wasn't a JA leftover. I asked him at Lolla '05 about it. He said Perry can play good enough to give everyone an idea and they can build on it from there.

I don't know why Dave and the others didn't ask credits for those Ja song on P4P albums,if they were involved in the songwriting process.

I think Perry had a special agreement wih Warners for the rights of the songs.
He released Rev under "Perry Farrell best";and i don't think Dave or Steve got the power to sell any of that song under their names.

well, i think perry and perk came up with "blood rag" if you listen to the '89 version, it's really just them two...

packin' .25 was just an instrumental and bad shit was just a riff, so it could've been a perry original that jane's just worked on.

hell, if you ask perry, he wrote all the jane's addiction songs

as for perry writing hard charger, i don't doubt it, but when it came out originally, there was talk of it being around during the jane's addiction days and the fact that dave plays on the track gave a little more truth to that one.

as for "freeway" i don't think it's about casey, but who knows. i doubt perry would still be writing songs about casey 4 years after they broke up, but again we don't know who it is about. my guess is christine cagle, from what i hear, those two were drug buddies and prone to crazy shit throughout their relationship.

Freeway was about his green Lexus.
I read an interview about that when the record came out.
The female he's talking about is the car.
