Re: Unreleased PFP songs
Most of these songs probably have rough/demo versions recorded at least, so maybe those'll come out or leak someday, wherever they may be. I remember an article in Surfing Magazine from early 97 I think which followed Perry and Pete on a tropical surf trip, and mentioned they had something like a porta-studio with them. It talked about Perry recording vocals for "Aqua" (there was also a pic).. so that's proof for me that recordings were done for at least some "new p4p songs" before the Jane's resurgence shoved them to the back of the freezer. It'd be nice to hear those vintage versions, but full-blown new studio versions could be cool too. These days Perry's at his best when he's not trying to be a rocker, trying to force himself to 20+ years ago, but rather can chill out with songs that fit where he is now. And I'll bet those campfire-y p4p songs from the late 90s would be up his alley.

Re: Unreleased PFP songs
perky mentioned at a drum clinic that pyros used to have a list of like 25 songs they would practice, he just kept mentioning the list and that there were a lot more songs than on the records .. this was around his banyan run right before relapse .. unfortunately that was also when he mentioned he wasnt working with perry anymore because perry just wanted him to come throw on a couple cybal splashes on his new record as opposed to actually playing drums .. and that really pissed off perky ... altho i must say admit i which was perky era is one of my faves. i wish perky coulda played on that one he got songwriting credits .. as fer perrys voice i think he can get it back .. its not really an age thing its more of a how u hold ur throat thing .. i was listening to psicom today and damn that band kicked asss .. it was like perry on helium trying to sing as low as peter murphy plus scream his face off at the same time .. so good .. maybe even more intense than janes .. on record at least .. seriously tho that band was awesome .. my point being more that perrys janes voice reminds me of sting and the police .. its really just letting go of the lower register and letting the upper take over .. lately it seems he is intent on letting the bass in his voice come thru .. i guess it sounds fuller and more like a voice in a way but if he wanted to change back to his old style its really just kinda not using a part of ur throat that pulls that bass out and leaves that sting janes upper tone .. its possible .. its really funny how my two favorites, prince and janes, are so meticulous about not letting out the super cool rare awesome shit they have done. the box set was cool but seriously lacking in some of their best coolest moments. same with prince .. there are literally thousands of genius boots out there and he wont release anything cool officially. so i guess we could hope for a pyros box set with those demos but i have my doubts they would include anything rough like that, even tho they should!

There was an upload going around labelled "3 Jems" (sic). There's a demo of Freeway, a demo of Dominator, then one I don't recognize. Maybe this unknown jam would have been one of those songs for the next album. It's just Perk and Pete on all of those tracks, if I remember correctly. I don't know where it came from or where it went.

Re: Unreleased PFP songs
this was almost a yr ago but there was a few fast and a few slow.Id say just like GGU and PFPs,the 3rd would have a sound of its own.Charles wrote:
30 seconds is not much to judge, but can you give us a little detail as to what it sounded like, slow or fast? 1st album, GGU era? etc....
They lyrics were deep and honest.
girls,drugs,insecurities,violence..ect
Im pretty sure the song "snapped" was about an ex-girlfriend that got beat up.

It's nice that some people here still care...But you're all nutz if you think Perry even remembers one of these songs. He even mentioned so long ago when someone asked about this supposed album..Pete taped it on a cassette player...It's not as though it's sitting around...anyway..sorry, but porno is even deader than Eric in JAnes...Maybe when Perry is 60 he and pete will play another accoustic Pets at another stale Lolla show. Other than that, We all have our memories of the good old days of JAnes and Porno.

Ya Perry doesnt even remember most of the stuff that went on during the Porno years. I'm willing to bet he doesnt remember words to any of the songs other than pets. Its a ashame they never released a full length live pro shot dvd of Porno for Pyros back in the day. Those guys were at the top of their game when they could bring it.bman wrote:It's nice that some people here still care...But you're all nutz if you think Perry even remembers one of these songs. Moody gothic version Pets. Bass guitar is prominent and this I like.

Go have a listen to the free downloads on peterdistefano's site because thats what you'll hear, not pure Porno For Pyros I believe. You can't resurect Porno For Pyros from the grave neither can Perry or Peter for that matter. They had all of the last decade 2000-2010 to do it but they chose not to and now its too late. That ship has sailed and their time has come and gone.
