Re: Jnne's as is...
I don't know, man.... I like what I have heard, and i had the lowest of expectations.... I think the new record could be really good.... I can't get "irresistable force" out of my head.... They are different, that is for sure. I followed them since 88, came a bit late, but they were one of the 1st groups I was fanatical about, and I kind of am excited like that again... I could not care less about them wanting to get paid.... I just want them to rock.

I find your writing fascinating! Please keep this thread going! Janes minus Eric has already releases Strays (sucked IMO) and is about to release a new record. Really what has Eric given us? At least these 3 are TRYING to do Janes. Eric bailed. He's just as much a control freak as Perry. That's why they can't work together unfortunately.

Re: Jnne's as is...
This is how I approach this and it works for me.
I don't have the same expectations of the band that I had when I first discovered them in '87 through the breakup in '91.
I know that sounds simple and it is.
Do I agree that every choice these guys have made since the breakup in '91 and including it are the right choices? No.
But I don't hold them to the same standards that I did back then and I don't expect them to be the same as they were back then.
You just have to separate the two from one another and if you do I think maybe you can still enjoy both.
At least that's how it works for me.
Your mileage may vary.

Well no offense, you're still being a presumptuous ass - some of us have loved JA since the late 80s and still love them today.humanoid wrote:wasn't being mean...boys...must be you guys are the younger generation of jane's...sad but true...what they had is gone..what they played good is even further...so enjoy what you know and let then ...fail as they are now...
So you don't like what they do now? So be it. Some of us are still enjoying what they do.

He used to believe that GOD is Dead. ..Nowadays, it's God is A Dad!
These guys are grown men. NOT the same kids we all loved back in the day. Two different bands.

Sometimes I think it's the musicians that died young that are the lucky ones.
Heaven forbid you grow up and quit doing the insane shit you did as a youngster that your fans loved.
Because those same fans want you to be exactly what you once were to them no matter the cost.
So I guess these guys need to get Sergio on speed dial and have him drop off a truckload of H and start fixing stat.

Getting Old sucks! I'm 37 now! SUCKS!! Unfortunately we all get old. How many great songs has Zep or the Stones released in recent years. I look at it this way. I FUCKING LOVE JANES ADDICTION and have for 21 years. They still put on a great show and are not yet hideous to look at. Without Janes I'm not on a fucking fan board and I'm not going to any concerts. So, Please keep going Janes! Thank You BoyS!!
