Getting Old sucks! I'm 37 now! SUCKS!! Unfortunately we all get old. How many great songs has Zep or the Stones released in recent years. I look at it this way. I FUCKING LOVE JANES ADDICTION and have for 21 years. They still put on a great show and are not yet hideous to look at. Without Janes I'm not on a fucking fan board and I'm not going to any concerts. So, Please keep going Janes! Thank You BoyS!!

I missed this bit yesterday and the addicted archivist in me is screaming for me to correct you.

Jane's were born at the very end of September or the very beginning of October in 1985.

The last Illuminotic show we're aware of (although not confirmed) took place on September 27, 1985.

So that leaves a window of about two weeks where they went from calling themselves Illuminotic to Jane's.
It is however enough info that we know for a fact that the band have only been around twenty-five years.

i followed this band for over 35 yrs....and one thing that really pisses me off is...they went comercial...
perry and eric started this band...and erik got screwed...perry was the main singer in my life....but he became a red neck now...he chose dave and stephen over his original boy who started this band....fuck you perry...i see nothing good of jane's no more....as i wached all my videos today on my day of from 86-90 and then some til now...erik was the band...
jane's is dead in my book....the 3 of them are all about the money...red carpet fag fucks....30yrs later and still jammin' the same shit....and i don't look forward of buying the new disc....as my favorite singer once said ( R.I.P- PETER STEELE )trust and you'll be trusted said the lier to the fool....perry farrell your it....you suck....god bless Eric Avery...

If you don't look forward to buying it, then just don't buy it. No one will force you to go and buy it, it is your choice. If you love the old Jane's so much don't let this version ruin that. I try to look at these as two completely different bands, because they really are. You can't compare the old Jane's and the new Jane's.

First EA was such an important element to the old Jane's song writing and sound. Without him the sound is going to be different. Second there is this wonderful thing in life called time and the remaining original members are just going to be different then they were back in the 80's. Their moyivations have probably changed as have their views on life and their beliefs. Third being clean also will effect how they write and what they write about.

Bottom line don't let the modern day Perry or JA ruin the old Jane's. Just don't listen to their new music. This is all under your control.
