THIS WEEK’S BEST BET:
Jane’s Addiction
w/ The Black Box Revelation
Tuesday, March 13
The Tabernacle – 152 Luckie Street NW in Atlanta 30303
SOLD OUT!
There was a time in my life when Jane’s Addiction was the most important band in the world. They were the standard-bearers, the most daring and inventive group in the burgeoning alternative rock movement. Fusing muscular riffs with flowery art rock, the band used an unconventional pseudo-gypsy and glam aesthetic to blaze a trail through the underground and onto MTV and the fringes of the mainstream. Had the group permanently called it quits after the release of their 1990 masterwork Ritual de lo Habitual, it’s likely they’d be remembered as one of the most important and influential bands of our generation. But since their 2001 comeback, the band has been thriving in their mediocrity, turning out a pair of middling records (including this year’s unremarkable effort, The Great Escape Artist) that have sold well enough, but that have left their long term legacy in some doubt. Still, I’ll always have a special place in my heart for those heady, formative years when Nothing’s Shocking and Ritual ruled my life, and never let it be said that a Jane’s Addiction show isn’t worth seeing—even their failures are generally spectacular. But barring a proper reunion with founding bassist Eric Avery—one that features new material—this is likely the last JA show I’ll ever see. There’s some sadness in that, but also a feeling of inevitability. Tomorrow night will mark the end of a long era for me and I can only hope that the band delivers one more devastating, mind-blowing performance for me to remember them by. But regardless of the result—a shadow of the past or a blaze of glory—I’m just happy I get a chance to say goodbye.

The wife and I just got back to my brother-in-law and sister-in-law's place. Overall, I thought it was a very good show. Perry was in fine form and sounded very good the entire night.
Here's the setlist:
Underground
Mountain Song
Just Because
Been Caught Stealing
Ain't No Right
Ted, Just Admit It
Twisted Tales
I Would For You
Jane Says
Chip Away
End To The Lies
Three Days
Stop
-Encore-
Words Right Out of My Mouth
Whores

I'm very curious as to his post show thoughts myself and that's at least in part why I posted the above.bman wrote:I'd like to read this guy's post show review! He'll be on cloud nine shortly!

Hit rockers Jane’s Addiction made a stop at the Tabernacle in downtown Atlanta, GA., where they performed for a sold-out crowd of enthusiastic fans. Just before the show, Dave Navarro autographed a hand-painted guitar which will be donated to St. Jude Children’s Hospital for charity auction. The guitar was hand-painted by Neal Hamilton, former photographer and artists at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Music News Nashville was on hand to capture the evening in photos.

The ones where Perry is holding some flowers while a member of the audience is giving him the finger are priceless.

I totally missed that but even worse is they spelled Perry's last name wrong on all of them too.bman wrote: I like the pic that says Perry and Dave Sitek!
