What's really intriguing is the second tape: Possibly shot by the same person as the above, this is a great video recording of the entire set from the second night of Lollapalooza 1991 in San Francisco, initially shot from the stage (behind Perkins for the first few songs) and then in front of the stage from below. A really nice low-gen copy. Has this ever circulated among fans? If not, is it worth having the tape professionally transferred to digital?

07/27/1991 Mountain View, CA Shoreline Amphitheatre [VIDEO]
Recently ran across something that I think may be of significance. I laid hands on a pair of professionally dubbed VHS tapes, the first of which is a low-generation copy of the camcorder recording of 08/05/1991 Cuyahoga Falls, OH - Blossom Music Center (Cleveland Lollapalooza), which was apparently taped by someone affiliated with the band from the side of the stage and also includes some backstage footage. It's what this clip http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lBwgyXxScoM is taken from. Mike says that this source is already circulating. http://forums.janesaddiction.org/viewto ... =40&t=2220

Hey henry, I saw those on ebay and was tempted. I'm glad to see somebody here snagged them.
The 8/5/91 show does indeed circulate and after a quick look at a list it seems that at least part of the 7/27/91 show is out there. I haven't dug out my copy of either but going by this list what circulates is 69 minutes long and incomplete. The tape you posted says it's 100 minutes and you say it's complete. So that would definitely be an upgrade and well worth having transferred.
I would go as far as to say it might be worth having both of them transferred and I can put you in touch with someone who will do this for you for nothing if you're interested. He's well respected amongst traders and capable of doing a nice transfer for you. Let me know what you want to do.

It's not professionally shot, and the audio is just from the camcorder's condenser mic but, once the camera operator moves out to right in front of the stage after a few songs, it's really enjoyable. Quite subjective, but I'd say at least a 7.Charles wrote:Henry, what grade would you give the quality of the vid on a scale of 1-10?
Should the show listing for this date be revised to reflect that both audio and video were recorded? http://janesaddiction.org/tour/show/jan ... 07-27/200/

No, the camera pans around the stage fairly frequently and features all band members relatively equally.Charles wrote:Is this vid moslty of Eric?
Now that both tapes have been digitized, who here wants to take a shot at preparing the data for upload and distribution? I'm no good at these things.

I could torrent them for you if you'd like.henry wrote:Now that both tapes have been digitized, who here wants to take a shot at preparing the data for upload and distribution? I'm no good at these things.
That's really the most feasible way of getting this out there.
I'm really curious to see how your copy of the 8/5/91 show compares to the copy I have?
I could send you a copy of what I have for comparison or we could both post some screen shots?
