P4P b-sides

Post by Scooby7 »

Hey, anyone have any feedback on these b-sides from Porno For Pyros?

* Cook the Rice (live)
* Pete's Dad (live)
* Dominator
* Tonight

I'm curious if they're originals and worth picking up.

Thanks!

All of those are great mate, and all pretty different to each other.

Tonight is obviously a cover of the West Side Story number - the others are originals. Pete's Dad is a cool ditty, Cook the Rice is off the wall and Dominator is just an ace song. B-side on the german version of Tahitian Moon I think... could be wrong.

But yeah, get them all bro.

Hey Scoob7, all those are well worth having IMO.
Cook the Rice (live) and Pete's Dad (live) are both found on the Sadness Maxi Single.
Both are originals.
If you pick it up you'll also get "A Little Sadness".
It's a bad ass alternate version of Sadness.

The live tracks were recorded December 12, 1993 at the KROQ Acoustic Christmas show.

Japhy is correct Dominator is available on the German "Tahitian Moon" single.

If you score the "Tahitian Moon" single you'll also get PFP's cover of "Satellite of Love".
It's also on the Good God's Urge (Import) and is an original.

Tonight as Japhy said is a cover.
You can find it on several versions of the "Pets" single.

Great, thank you both for the reviews. They're pretty affordable on amazon, so I'll grab them. Can't wait for this tour to "officially" start, going to check them out at Bogart's in Cincy.

i've always wondered if there were any existing original P4P songs that were played live or demo'd but never appeared officially released on either of the 2 albums or soundtracks, ect.

P4P did a song called Streets on Fire w/ the rapper Kurrupt for the movie Dark Blue which was never officially released. Dark Blue tanked at the box office, so no soundtrack was ever made even though it had been planned.
